Pens 24-25 - Retool
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GoGuinsGo_18</b></div><div>That better not be the Jake deal bc that's awful. Foegele is a UFA and does nothing for us and the only player I'd have interest in being the centerpiece would be McCleod, which it doesn't sound like he's on the table.</div></div>
Of course not. McLeod is more valuable than Guentzel when you consider age, contract, position and health.

Holloway won’t be moved though , too important for our depth and cap outlook. You could have Bourgault in his place, he’ll produced better than Puljujaarvi by the way.</div></div>
I've heard from a couple Pittsburgh writers say it's his pinky for what that is worth

5 acceptable ways in which the Rangers can pay for Tarasenko
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SwarmChair</b></div><div>Oilers off former first round pick Bourgault plus a 4th round pick. Could that work for Tank?</div></div>
Oilers don't have enough cap space for Tarasenko.
If they want Tarasenko, they'll need to move out somebody else to make room.
Aside from that, I'd accept Bourgault and a 4th, yes.

Who says no
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SwarmChair</b></div><div>Oilers decline. Mcleod is not being traded.</div></div>
Agreed. McLeod is producing more than Bertuzzi at 5v5, plus he's younger, a center and millions cheaper.
Liljegren can't replace Ceci in his hard mintues role, his stats are slightly better than Ceci's but he gets a big o-zone push, more OTF starts and lower comp. Surprisingly, despite the o-zone push his scoring rate at 5v5 is no better than Ceci's.
Janmark and Kampf are basically a wash. Janmark is better on the PK, Kampf is a center. Neither score much... but Kampf is 2.4x the cost, making that trade an easy loss for Edmonton.
So this trade has Edmonton getting worse, taking on marginally more cap and kicking in a 2nd for their trouble.

Leafs deadline trades
Considering hes in every Leaf trade possible, and always getting back dmen in return, it makes me question if Timmins has any value really.
He was picked up for another scrub by TOR, and on his 4th team in 4-5 years and still unable to play defense, makes me question who would really want him, or if he has any value higher than a 5th.
Lajoie and Lagesson are waiver wire guys, and I highly doubt theres teams out there seeking them or placing real value on them.
The package to PHI might be enough for Laughton, with 3 yrs retained, but waiting 3 yrs for picks and robertson/lajoie probably doesn;t do much for PHI

The Avs roster definitely has some holes to be worried about. If they fill those holes I think their core becomes the defacto favourite again. I’d take that core over the Knjghts. But at this point the knights are just the better team with less holes.</div></div>
I hope Vegas doesn’t go on a run again. Assuming STL gets eliminated early I’d like to see WPG or McDavid get a Cup.

Selling high off a two goal first half of the game
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SwarmChair</b></div><div>Edmonton declines by the way. Much better Wingers on the market can be had with a 1st.</div></div>
To be clear, this was a joke post. There was no expectation that anyone would think it was a reasonable trade. Duke had 2 goals halfway through the game and I was joking about selling high. After all, if he scores 2 goals in half a game that means he'll probably score 328 over an 82-game season!

Holding onto a prospect just because he is a RH can be a waste of time, just look at the Leafs and Timmins... I know his main problem is health but even when healthy he wasn't everyday 3rd pair material.

He'd play better in sheltered minutes and a different system. His biggest issue is his contract does not match his play. He'd be a great in a 5/6 role at $2 mil per.

Edmonton wont move multiple firsts just to move Campbell. They will just buy him out in the off season. the buyout is pretty small.

In what world has Perron warranted a 1st a return? That aside, the fact that you're treating Foegele as some kind of cap dump/throw-in here is wrong-headed. Do you realise the quality of play we've gotten from Foegele thus far?

Fair points but are you going to find a better player for only taking on 1.125m in cap. Between the retention and taking on Janmark, NJ is essentially paying 3.125 of the 4.25 Toffoli has on the cap
