I saw something from the fourth period. I'm not sure how credible pagnotta is but he's saying they are not trading Markstrom this season. What are your thoughts?

I think Fitzy put forward a large package for the package deal (Markstrom and Hanifin), knowing he could overpay on one piece and make up the balance on the other.

Conroy accepted half of it (the Markstrom-for-Holtz half), but sought a better return for other half (Hanifin for ???). Fitzy said both or none.

Now either Fitzy has decided to go in different direction or Conroy has found higher bid for Hanifin. Thereby killing the one-team market for Markstrom.

It’s a silly move by Conroy, because selling the blueline isn’t going to increase Markstrom’s value…and he has already asked to him to waive his NTC for New Jersey and he agreed.

As another devils fan, If it doesn't cost a high end prospect then fine but every minute that passes makes Markstrom less desirable as a target. He's 34 and will be 35 before next playoffs, What do you get out of that? 1 MAYBE 2 runs? that's not worth a guy who can be a consistent contributor in either the top 6 or top 4 for the next 10-15 years 6-8 of which you have guaranteed control
