Barzal will likely be close to 7m imo for 2-3. Curious what it will cost the islanders to move the cap needed at this point.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ForsbergForVezina</b></div><div>Very well put, I could definitely see all of that happening. I'm not even totally against the whole Wahlstrom thing - it seems like they have a lot of confidence in Dobson now, in large part because he was brought along slowly and carefully. If they think the same thing can happen with Wahlstrom, then I'm all for it.
I feel the same way about Greene - either should've picked up someone like Koekkoek or Hutton or just give Aho a try next to Mayfield (personally, I'd rather see Leddy with Dobson anyways). He's 38 I think? Just means there's an increased chance of injury or further regression. Why is that something we want to commit another year to, besides "muh loyalty?" Kuhnhackl is the same way, although I doubt he's still on our radar. I think Czarnik was brought in to replace what he brought. The only one I'd be somewhat enthusiastic about re-signing is Brassard, just because he has a lot of positional versatility and was helpful on the PP this year.
So my middle six would be (assuming Wahlstrom doesn't play, like you said):
Lee/Beau - Nelson - Brassard
Bellows/MDC - Pageau - Bailey</div></div>
I would prefer wahlstrom, but honestly just one of koivula/bellows/wahlstrom has to be a regular. Lou/trotz know that this team desperately needs players that can finish - it would be reckless to start the year with brassard and komarov on the 3rd line.

Opening Night
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rokk</b></div><div>As unpopular as this is with the fans on this site. I think they'll pull a Dobson and Wahlstrom will be used sparingly spending the year bouncing between the taxi squad and the scratches to practice with the team and get used to the system, depending on injuries of course. My guess is Komorov starts opening night in place of Wahlstrom.
I honestly don't understand Lou's thought process sometimes. I know he's a big Greene fan, but he could have found somebody better to fill his position. Greene was great against Florida, Good against Washington, mediocre against Philadelphia and god awful against Tampa. Tampa really made him look his age as they blew past him every chance they got.
Re-signing Kühnhackl would be a mistake as well to be honest. They should stick Bellows in that spot and let him grow with the team even if they don't play him.
But, these are just my opinions.</div></div>

Well the basis of Milbury mode is you let the AI take control of everything and accept every trade it sends to you, put the AI to auto sign so it really depends on the AI. Also this is based off of a video made by Tougie24 on YouTube

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>Frees up cap space ;)</div></div>
Losing an integral part of our core isn't a cap dump. He's an incredibly capable playmaker and is integral to our second line. We can free up cap space by moving Boychuk with the picks acquired in the Toews trade and using either picks or Bellows as a sweetener to take Komarov. Bailey isn't a useless player, FAR from it. He's 2 season out from a 71 point season.

The Määttä deals a bit puzzling, but then who knows what Bowmans doing in Chicago? I think there's more going on than what's being reported all his deals just seem so bad. I don't how else to say it...lol</div></div>
True, Bowman sucks ass currently. Lamoriello got voted best GM of the year, so he probably has more insight regarding the moves he's making...

3.075M for 3M-ish
Cap is probably as even as it can possibly be. What do you think?</div></div>
Eh, Hickey would need to be taken at full price. Makes more sense to just bury Hickey in the minors and call him up if needed than it is to lock ourselves into a retention for the next two years.

Trying to fit under the cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rokk</b></div><div>Wow a Kings fan that makes more sense than most Islander fans on here...lol
Although just to nit pick a little bit. You have 42,500 in cap space with one spot to fill. We likely can't afford Cizikas at the end of the year and with a talent like Casey and his skill set you don't let a guy like that walk for free. Some of us learned from the Tavares fiasco. Interested?</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rokk</b></div><div>That's just it. I'd love to keep Casey but we have a bunch of RFA's next year to sign as well. Add Sorokin to that list. I have a feeling he won't be a bust and will demand a raise as well.</div></div>
Lool Thanks man. Also an Isles fan as well as Kings fan tho. Started watching the team cuz of Tavares but so many others have really become fan faves for me so I continue to constantly support them.
As for trading Cizikas, I just think he is too essential for this team to give up, cuz realistically this team will try and compete for the Cup again next season, and he is so crucial to that PK and the energy he brings to the game is unrivalled in my opinion. I think the team would be more open to giving up a pick alongside like a Leo Komorov or hell maybe giving Seattle a 1st and a decent prospect to take Andrew Ladd's contract.

Trying to fit under the cap
Thats the most probable scenario IMO. That still seems low for Pulock, so he might go shorter term go cash out later or go longer for security
Could be easier to move Boychuk, Clutterbuck & Komarov in 21-22 with only 1 year left. Beauvillier and Pelech will eat most of the 11,8m left in 21-22 by themselves.

For sure. I don’t want to trade for him, but I’d judge the trade overall based on what we have to give up/retention.
There’s a decent chance parise retired in year 4 or 5 of the deal considering he’s owed 1 mill in salary

Game 4

Yup varly stole this game.
The powerplay has to be a coaching problem as well. Pulock, beau, and Nelson have great shots. Figure out a way to create space and get them the puck. Stop standing still.
Trotz has always had a problem coaching against aggressive teams with speed. Barzal is the best transition player in the NHL, so trotz allows him to carry the puck in instead of dumping it. The other three lines “place and chase”. So why does trotz have lee on barzal’s line against a fast team like TB? People criticize lee, but trotz is misusing him. Beau is great in transition so allow him to play with barzal so they can pressure opposing D and then let brocks line dump and chase and get pucks on net. I’ve seen the argument that the 2nd line gets slower, but it doesn’t even matter with the way they play. Nelson gets the puck on net, bailey has great chemistry with lee. It just makes too much sense against a team like TB

Tampa knows how to roll without him. It’ll come down to playing a full 60 for the Isles. They know how to shut teams down but Tampa can fly and if they get even 10 minutes Isles could lose the game. I don’t have the isles winning but they can’t hang with Tampa in a back and forth game
