Is one of Cernak or Cirelli on the way out
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GeneralLandro</b></div><div>Could both be? Move them each for cheaper options?</div></div>
I would prefer to trade Cernak, but NTC makes it much harder and hes injury prone last 2 years. Cirelli will give you much more return.

Was just a scenario, like I said.. if they cant find a team to give a late pick then TB just buys him out.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>StutzlesNumber1Fan</b></div><div>Depends who you ask. I've seen other Bolts fans saying Cirelli is available so idk lol</div></div>
From what I've been reading and seeing, the TB fans who have no idea how the salary cap works believe that Cirelli and Cernak aren't moving. Anyone with a brain can understand that Cirelli is overpaid. He just doesn't give you the offensive play that you expect a 2nd liner to do with Stammer/Hagel. 2nd line C for 6.5m + should be producing 60-70 points.. and be able to play defense since he is a C. If you can't find that in a player, then take 800k and resign Motte who can do it defensively like Cirelli and use the remaining of his contract to get more offensive.

Cernak NTC. Plus if they trade him then they acquired Mac for no reason. Raddysh def a bad move here, hes producing way more than what his contract is worth. Everything else looks good here, would like to get more for perbix tho as he can be a 3rd liner on most teams in the NHL.

TB wont trade a 3rd to get rid of him, at that price they'll just buy him out and take the .5m cap hit. The Sheary move here is literally just a cap dump for anything.

lol I responded to your scenario and your roster looks like ****. expecting 2 rookies to play on the 2nd and 3rd line. You have no offense outside of Kuch, Point, Hagel and Stammer. You made 0 effort into actually making the team better. You can't argue with a scenario if you dont even try man. Stick to watching the game in the seats.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boltsbeathabs</b></div><div>No I'm assuming he comes back because as he's said thousands of times "I WANT TO BE HERE MY ENTIRE CAREER" ALSO BECAUSE HE SAID "IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT ME ANYMORE, I HAVE A YOUNG FAMILY WHO'S PLANTED ROOTS HERE. " ALSO "I LOVE THE AREA THIS HAS BECOME HOME"
He also remembers an 18/19 yo Steven Stankos playing regularly with Marty and Vinny.</div></div>
Ah ok, so 0 effort into truly trying to figure a way to make the team better.. just resigning people and expecting prospects who have never played a game in the NHL to jump onto the 2nd and 3rd line. You really are making your case here my friend. Why don't you atleast try to make the team better rather than argue with people online who are trying to come up with scenarios for fun? The entire purpose of this is to develop a team that works within the NHL cap system, yet you didn't even attempt to make the team better... you made the worse... yet arguing with me that I traded Cirelli who is by far the most expendable player on the roster since he produced a mere 50 points at best playing with some of the games best players. Cirelli is a glorified 3rd liner with 20 goal potential. He just happened to land into a good team and system to be TB 2nd line center, but surrounded by Killorn, Hagel, Stamkos his entire career.

Now, do I see this as a possibility? Absolutely. I created my roster as if TB does trade Cirelli, and if they did what I think would work. However, I believe TB has a better roster if they do find a trade partner for Cirelli because that roster you created is extremely thin offensively and TB had trouble scoring last year outside of Kuch, Hagel, Point and Stammer.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Over the last two seasons with us, Frankie V has scored 101 points. Over the last two seasons with Tampa, which some subtle indications suggest was a better team than Anaheim, Cirelli scored 74. This trade saves the Lightning $2.6 million in cap space and thereafter gets them out of Cirelli's $6.25 million cap hit entirely. So even if we needed and/or wanted a $6.25 million #3C, we wouldn't be the team adding the third-round draft pick even if it was #79 instead of #66.</div></div>
Well said, I don't follow ANA closely enough to break that down. Ideally I would be looking to trade Cirelli for a cheaper player who can score points on a 1-2 year deal. Doesn't exactly have to be Vatrano or ANA.

Works great, love having Howard or Conglaves on the 2nd line. So you are asking Stamkos to come back for less to play with a rookie. Just doesn't make sense man. JBB is going all in, hence why he just traded a 2nd for MAC. Its either Stammer does not come back, which I believe isn't even an option, or Cirelli goes. You can replace Cirelli's offense stats with a 3m player like Duclair, then replace his defense skills with a player like Motte for 800k and POCKET the remaining 3m you save... then use that 3m + Conglaves 800k to go get a veteran FWD for 4m to play with Stamkos. Thats when he will agree to take a massive paycut.

I mean, yeah you can but then you down a forward man. Who's playing on the top line and whos playing with Stammer? Also saving money this way also.. but im sure you think Stammer is signing for 3m.

Agreed there, I think a easy swap for a high pick to a young team with cap is worth it. You probably aren't drafting a Cirelli in the 2nd round, even with a high 2nd.

I knew when they signed him and Sergy it was overpriced. Cirelli is a 5m guy, not a mid 6m. Sergy is closer to a 7m guy, right now hes not a top 2 dman and thats what 8.5m is worth. Bad deals with those 2 coming from the salary portion of it. Also, if you look at Cirelli's actual salary for this upcoming year, its only 1.6m or something, majority of it is in signing bonus's.. I wonder why? How come Sergy and Cernak got NTC but Cirelli didnt? Seems like they knew this may be a possibility with Stammer and here we are.
