Description
Puts TB is a situation next season, but assuming Hedman takes a paycut for 2025 like Stammer does. Jeannot to young and new UTAH for a 3rd liner who can score, just like Jeannot did his rookie year. Jeannot gives them the grit and character a young team needs and a fresh start for him. ANA adds Cirelli for Vatrano who is on a 1 year deal. Doesn't make sense for ANA to extend him at 31 years old, so they add a younger TWF that can play on the top 2 lines and locked up long term (Cirelli). Perbix and picks for Nyquist is a fantasy of course, but we saw a similar deal for jeannot.. which was a young defenseman and picks. NSH going into rebuild they said, so why not trade a mid 30s fwd for picks and a young defenseman to replace Mac? Doing this gives Stammer 6m for 5-6 years and gives TB 2 solid lines, a good 3 line by adding Carcone and resigning Motte to solidfy the 4th line and PK. Paul will need to step up and take Cirelli's role on PK. Let me know your thoughts! (Stammer obviously in the empty spot on PP)

Over the last two seasons with us, Frankie V has scored 101 points. Over the last two seasons with Tampa, which some subtle indications suggest was a better team than Anaheim, Cirelli scored 74. This trade saves the Lightning $2.6 million in cap space and thereafter gets them out of Cirelli's $6.25 million cap hit entirely. So even if we needed and/or wanted a $6.25 million #3C, we wouldn't be the team adding the third-round draft pick even if it was #79 instead of #66.

Well said, I don't follow ANA closely enough to break that down. Ideally I would be looking to trade Cirelli for a cheaper player who can score points on a 1-2 year deal. Doesn't exactly have to be Vatrano or ANA.

TB wont trade a 3rd to get rid of him, at that price they'll just buy him out and take the .5m cap hit. The Sheary move here is literally just a cap dump for anything.

SJ can use the cap space to absorb some other dumps. no need to do tampa a favor

Was just a scenario, like I said.. if they cant find a team to give a late pick then TB just buys him out.
