Columbus already has a full left side of superior players one of whom is a prospect with zero NHL games played. Hardest of passes.

Can't see Columbus doing that. After today I don't know what his value is because I didn't think Walman was a negative asset but here we are. Either way, I just cabt see Columbus making this deal

Bad contract swap
is gaudreaus contract even considered bad? he got 60 points in a down year? 9.7 is a lot but if he bounces back hes easily a point per game player for the next 3 years and hes only got 5 years left so not like he has - value. id do that deal in a heart beat tho.
id pass on the MTL deal. someone will take ceci for nothing or a late throw in pick from us. holloway id only move if we got significantly better which i dont see that deal doing anything. Pavelski is retiring and even if hes not i doubt he goes anywhere but Dal or sjs.
Crosby deal is interesting but i doubt he gets moved unless someone find blackmail on dubas

Drurys Tweaks and Draft Picks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jjvatore11</b></div><div>I can see why they wouldn’t want to give up Dumais.However they are loaded with prospect forwards. You can get Jones who can truly be a Significant peice with ice time that we’ll probably regret. Also Garand will be a potential starter replacement for Elvis which I think entices CBJ. JD also familiar with both if he has any input still w/ Waddell</div></div>
Columbus has Greaves and Ivanov in the pipeline who both look pretty solid in the long run, so I don't feel like there is any rush to address the goalie situation if they're just running Merzlikins and Tarasov next year. I don't think personally Dumais will be in Columbus long-term (though he's one of my favourite prospects), but if he's traded, it's probably going to be as part of a quantity-for-quality package, i.e., prospects + more for a high-end player.

Big10 Reunion
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pijonty</b></div><div>I would like to be as well but double hip surgery and sports hernia surgery at 19 while also playing in the Q inflated numbers.
Vitalii Abramov had 300 points in 3 Q seasons, look where he is now</div></div>
Again, fair! But PPG Dumais has produced at a higher rate, and that is with the surgery addressing issues that he had been dealing with for years now.
Maybe he comes out of rehab a different player (which, again, not unreasonable to expect), but I still like him. Abramov was a kid who generally produced at a high level in the AHL, but never cracked the NHL. Wouldn’t blame the kid for signing a KHL contract that took him to NHL UFA.
Scott Wheeler did a dive, and relative levels of production across all junior levels, this is a kid whose floor projects as Conor Garland. If that’s the level we are supposed to expect, I’m OK with it.
All told. It’s one thing if Dumais is in a trade for an established, need-now player, versus another prospect. Just makes for a few years of nervousness when dealing with who turns into who over time for prospects. I wouldn’t hate this trade, but I also feel like the ‘25 1st alone would be fair.

Laine Options
I love Crouse and would love that trade;
Burakovsky has too many injury concerns for me;
I’d want an add for Skinner;
Lord no on Huberdeau; and/or, CGY needs some adds on that;
Pass on Palat;
Honestly? I’d take that for Ekblad. He’s had some down seasons, but I believe in him.

Fair. I also admit I’m higher on Dumais than most.

I don't think the Jets have the leverage for that kind of haul for a kid who isn't NHL ready and was a 14OA pick who hasn't really overplayed his slot. Gavin Brindley outplayed and outscored him on the same line last season, for example.

Korpo can be bought out. They don't need to trade him with a sweetener, especially a top 10 pick.
Ottawa does not need to retain salary for 5 years. With Columbus's center depth what it is (they were forced to play Laine there last year), a one for one for Laine and Norris is all that is needed but that feels more like moving sideways and I honestly think Blue Jackets should be the one sweetening. We are talking about a player in Norris who scored 35 goals in 66 games two seasons ago.
I think Boston would want more for Ullmark. If it was just Chych it would have happened already.
