If NHL GMs were actually fun
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boltsradynasty</b></div><div>Yeah in three NHL seasons .897,.898,.900 behind one of the worst teams in the league Andrei Vasilevskiy would have a difficult time posting much more than .900 save% nice cherry picking. Your drastically over valueing Marner</div></div>
Lindgren had a .911 with the Caps terrible defense… Vasi is not going sub .900 with the Yotes D…

If NHL GMs were actually fun
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boltsradynasty</b></div><div>Utah trades Crouse, KOLYACHONOK, VEJMELKA and a firstt for one year of Marner 10.9 then at least 12 beyond that if he resigns? Is Bill Armstrong suffering from extreme cognitive decline?</div></div>
Vejmelka - could be their best goalie, but doesn’t say much. He’s never had a save pct over .900. It has all the markings of a guy that was over marketed and thus overrated
Kolyachinok- he’s a 22 yo dman with 39 games… he isn’t gonna be anything special. Probably a 2nd pair guy in a few years at best, but would give the leafs something they can plug and play.
Crouse - I really like Crouse personally, but realistically, he’s a 2nd or 3rd line average winger, 20 goal, 40 point guy with an edge.
Marner - Yes a year left… yes ‘could’ be 12m… however, not every day you get a super marketable superstar… especially when you’re building basically a new franchise. You get a 100 point winger you can instantly sell 100k jerseys for and throw on your top line. Also, I said “with the framework of an extension in place”, meaning it’s either close or done. It’s absolutely not a UFA.

I’m not sure anyone commenting read the description… I said I don’t think any of the teams do this. It’s just a fun proposal.

You may be forgetting Marner has a year left. No, I don’t think it means Coop is a good return, but Leafs get a new starter in net, decent D prospect, and 2 draft picks to use as trade bait to fill the offensive hole met…
Regarding Detroit, Copp had 33 points with Christian Fischer on his wing and as one of the best defensive 3C’s in the league

Trade with Anaheim
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CHAR</b></div><div>All of Tracey, Perreault and Groulx have disappointed this season in the sense that none of them progressed forward. With that said it's easy to forget how young they are and how impactful the pandemic was to players of their age group. Perreault in particular should be playing his first season in the AHL based on age but instead he's on his third season. The CHL probably would have been a much better place for him the previous two years.
On top of that the Gulls are just terrible. Are the kids bad because the team is bad or the other way around?</div></div>
As I watch it mostly looks like injury related. The teams defense is injury depleted.

Trade with Anaheim
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>Maybe he does, maybe not, he's only in his sophomore season in the AHL. He might just take a while to develop. Given our depth chart though, moving any LW prospect doesn't make sense given the pending departures of Henrique and Silfverberg.</div></div>
I’ve always liked Hunter Drew, but don’t really see him being an NHL a player (4th liner tops). How does the Ducks faithful view him?

Trade with Anaheim
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>There's just one major problem with that. We would be trading away a player from our shallowest position in our depth chart to acquire a player at our deepest position on our depth chart.
I'd rather hang onto Tracey to see if he works out than get a guy who probably never cracks our roster.</div></div>

Never mind, I see you’re a Ducks fan. Yeah, I live in San Diego, but I don’t follow Ducks, so not really sure how you guys view him. Gulls fans seem to like him, but talking to them they don’t seem to think he is a sure-ahot NHL player

We have 5 quality LD prospects (Ed, AJo, Wally, Buium, Viro). It’s probably our deepest. If he was RD, I might agree.

Till it does/doesn’t happen, anything can happen. Nearly everyone has confirmed in some way that we’re looking at Meier, and that would almost certainly take 2023 picks

TDL Detroit
Koskinen is 2.98 the last 4 years. Greiss, with our atrocious defense, is near the same. May not be a huge upgrade, but certainly not worse.

TDL Detroit
STL is in on 3 other defenseman… Staal, as a veteran D, is very much worth that if it comes in at 1 mil. Oilers cap depends on a lot of things, but I expect they offload Koskinen one way or another. Either than or go 18 mil over the cap and win the cup…
Real cool of you to spend all day every day bashing everyone else’s trades… I see nothin on your page tho… how bizarre.

Concept
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>zaro95</b></div><div>I'm a big fan of Kaliyev not sure if kings would be willing to part ways with him. Also I think Detroit brings in someone to play middle 6 center to take some pressure off Veleno and have Cholowski paired with Hronek like last year</div></div>
I don’t disagree about center. I just don’t know if there’s anyone viable. Maybe a vet like Krejci? Maybe a younger guy like Wenneberg?
For LA, sometimes you have to give something up to get something back. They clearly think they can start to make a run. They lack those greasy guys, so bringing in a guy like Bert solidifies that role and gives them their other top 6 forward. Kaliyev is more or less a victim of being one of 15 solid top 6 prospects.
I also agree about Cholo. That’s really semantics tho. This was more about the trades and signatures.

Prior to expansion amp summer moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jim_Benning_Almost</b></div><div>He's a cap dump for Vegas, Lehner is their future. VGKs do that deal.
Vancouver on the other hand, no chance they do this. Eriksson is a two time 30 goal scorer, signed to a team friendly deal, and used sparingly over the past two years, so his legs will be fresh. He'll easily score 30 goals this year, and the Wings can flip him as a rental at the trade deadline for two 1sts and a 2nd rounder. Pretty much all 16 playoff teams will want him.</div></div>
He is as good as retired…. On an atrocious contract, especially with as important as cap is.
I personally am not a fan of giving up Vlad for that little. He may not be flashy, but he gets his chances.
