Big trade
Doubt he'd waive to go to Tampa nothing against Tampa but he wanted to play in the NY area because his Fiance is doing her residency there after med school. Was only willing to go to one of three teams, NYR NYI NJD. Jets did rather well considering the limitations, had better offers but he wasn't willing to sign long term with any of those teams.

I'd prefer this line up actually if he's up for signing long term. Third line doesn't score a lot but they spend the majority of their time in the other teams end. Fourth line has size speed and skill

They would have had to put in a waiver claim earlier today or last night, can't do a waiver claim after the fact unfortunetely.

In a way yup though don't see this trade going down this season, Jets will run with our top six this year. Any deadline deal would probably be just futures, so unless it's a boatload he's here for the season I'm sure.

Well the conditional pick was on Stastny playing one game for the Jets so suppose we'd keep out 4th rounder lol

Don’t think you want that headache</div></div>
He wouldn't get that in arbritation somewhere between 7-8 most likely is what the arbritator would decide on.
The team has the option to walk away but not the player, so unless the team or him doesn't file he can't sit. But if somehow he was able to we'd still retain his rights for two years. He started as a 19 year old so his ufa year can still be pushed back one season needs 7 full seasons

I also think perfetti will be the better player long term</div></div>
Yes but our window with Scheiffelle, Wheeler and Hellybuck on there current contracts is four years including this one. Perfetti could be the better player but does he help win a cup in that window, not sure he makes the jump that quick. Be great if he did though

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>apparently Dubois wants to be in a big market on a bigger stage according to friedmam on TSN radio today, so Winnipeg would be the same issues with him and he would just want a trade out as soon as he can.
Based on that dont see how Winnipeg has a chance of keeping him happy</div></div>
I know but his ufa year is the same as Scheiffelle could just run him through arbritation two times and take three runs with that one two combo or take two and trade whichever doesn't sign long term that last year. Arbritation rulings are quite a bit less then long term contracts so would work cap wise.

Are you sure they would, they have five defensman that they'd ideally like to protect for the expansion draft. Even if they go 4 d 4 f one of Soucy or Dumba will be left exposed.

Tuch is under 25, locked into a great deal and just showed what he can truly do in the post season.
If he’s not that great why is he instantly slotting instantly in your top 6?</div></div>
I'm not saying he's a bad player but they need to move out cap. They can become compliant by cutting it down to a roster of 20 but. They need to get around 1.5-2 under the cap right now to cover themselves in case of injuries, you can run a roster of 20 but unless an injury is 10 games and 24 days it can't be put on ltir to create more space.
Teams can't just put injured players on the taxi squad to make space much like they can't send them to the AHL. So your forced to play with 17, 16, 15 skaters if they pile up.
Ideally you run a roster of 23 and have about 1 million in cap space for an extra call up if you go beyond 3 players on IR. Cap space is at a premium right now.

No probably not if there just wanting a pick back for the cap space, but then Tampa had to give up a 2nd to dump 3.35 million in cap space and those contracts are expiring and can be flipped at the deadline. if we're sending Roslovic and Niku back yes. If not best of luck with 0 cap space and we keep them.

I don't for sure, AGM is completely hypothetical. Word is he wants out of Columbus guess we'll see. They had the space to lock him up long term this offseason ended up as a low ball bridge.

Probably not no, but a 2nd and a 4th and a cheaper replacement coming back is probably more palatable then the 1st and 2nd to move Fleury don't see that price going down next off season. Depending when Lerner comes off ltir or if he can even go on they'll have to make some move that leaves room for recalls .

Laine is a winger who doesn't play nearly as complete of a game, and has seen his #1 asset, production, decline year over year.
You can say Laine is more skilled and "better" if you look at production alone but future #1C > future #1W any day of the week</div></div>
Yes definitely but if he's not interested in being there long term but Laine is willing to sign an extension do you prefer 4 more years of PLD or 7-9 of Laine.

I think they will no one is in a hurry to help them out cap wise unless its worth their while, Stastny = 4th Schmidt =3rd. No one's taking on Fleury unless a 1st is coming back,.
Roslovic = 2nd & 4th
Niku = 3rd / 4th 775k aav
Tuch = 3rd/ 4th in this trade market 4.75m aav
They're going to be up against it next year and are exempt from the expansion draft so no salary being plucked of their roster there. They might get a 2nd from some team for him but then who's replacing him

I guess this if no trades
In theory you an start the season that way, but if a player gets injured and is going to miss less then 10 games or 24 days they can't be put on ltir and still count against the cap, you still need a cushion for recalling players that's why teams usually carry 22-23 on the roster. An injured player can't be assigned to the minors to so waiving/assigning them to the taxi squad won't be allowed to make the space.
