Take out Gavrikov and Stastny.

I figured CBJ would need a replacement C and I also figured Laine was worth more than PLD, hence Gavrikov > Stasney.

Even getting Dubois, I think the Jets would prefer to have Stastny over Gavrikov as Gavrikov doesn't help the Jets much being an LD. But I guess it would be something to think about.

To me he looks more like a bottom pair guy and not that much of an improvement on Forbort, but I didn't watch much of Columbus.

What we needed - another PLD Laine trade

CapFriendly needs a cap on heavily repeated trades.

Gavrikov is pretty good, he'd be a solid addition but would be an issue in the expansion draft.

Pesce for Nylander would have exceeded the cap in 2017

In a way yup though don't see this trade going down this season, Jets will run with our top six this year. Any deadline deal would probably be just futures, so unless it's a boatload he's here for the season I'm sure.

I think value is irrelevant at this point. Both guys by virtue of wanting out of their respective teams give those teams less leverage to trade with the other 29 teams. Negotiating with eachother IMO is probably the only way they'd both get close to fair value for each other. Roslovic and Bemmstrom were just added for extra flair but not needed. Roslovic probably the better player but also wants out which hurts his trade value so wtv, I just threw those two in.

I think PLD is the absolute best WPG could hope for trading Laine and vice versa for Columbus with PLD. I don't think either team can expect better returns in terms of value. No one is giving Zegras, Rackell and 1st for either guy.
