Solving the ARI Money Issue
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JPM</b></div><div>Basically plus these contracts allow the owners to reach cap minimum with out paying much cash.</div></div>
Parise would probably waive his no trade but Suter will not. He is best buds with the owner of the Wild and is exactly where he wants to be. Value on your deal though is probably pretty good for the Wild although I think Suter is currently a better player than Ekman-Larsson. I suspect he will start to bounce back once he is in a new environment though.
I know most people on here hate this plan you laid out here. I on the other hand get the logic and see it as a viable plan for Arizona. Though I am certain Suter won't waive. Parise would if it means he plays and enjoys tax incentives.

Edmonton Anaheim trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JPM</b></div><div>I don’t think that’s enough for Manson in terms of what Anaheim wants, however personally I think it’s fair value wise.
On the Larsson trade thats way overvaluing Johnsson. The Oilers traded Taylor Hall to get Larsson they can’t give him up for Johnson and concede that he is the worse player by adding a pick. I think a straight swap with no picks and EDM might go for it, but probably not, you’d probably have to throw a 2nd to EDM.</div></div>
Ok that trade was a joke. I knew that trade wasn't fair. However I am pissed for all the Edmonton fans who wanted to give Kris Russel for Kapanen.
Larsson isn't even that good offensively or defensively. He just hits and that's it

He skated with the Stars prospects in development camp without a no contact jersey, and was a full participant. Obviously there weren't many hard-hitting drills, but he said he feels better than he has since his injury. All signs point to him being a player for the Stars on opening night. Final decision likely won't come until he proves he can handle contact during training camp & preseason, but he looks good.

Voracek - Perry Deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ducksfan93</b></div><div>So, you give up Perry and Kase to get Voraceks huge contract for an additional 4 years (of what Perrys was)? That makes no sense.</div></div>
I agree Voracek doesn't make sense for the Ducks but you don't think he is worth more than a guy who hasn't played a game yet this year and coming off knee surgery and another guy who is out indefinately with a torn labrum? ??? Voracek is 29, yes has an inflated contract at 8.25 with 6 years left but Perry has 3 years left and makes more. Voracek almost scored more points last year than Kase and Perry combined

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>F50marco</b></div><div>Not only that though, right now and for the remainder of the contract, i'd rather have Voracek. Perry will be 34 by the time he is healthy again. If you think he still has 30 goals seasons in him, I don't think your seeing where the NHL is going. Voracek is overpaid but for the most part he is still a pretty darn good player. Guy 1/2 year removed from a 85 point season ffs.....</div></div>
For sure.
As a Ducks fan, I've resigned myself to the fact that we'll have Perry/Kesler through the end of their contracts. While not ideal, if you look at the current team payroll structure, it's not the end of the world. A lot of really good contracts on that team keeping the younger core (Kase, Montour, Lindholm, Henrique, Rakell, Gibby, etc.), together through both of those deals.
Not a lot of flexibility when it comes to upgrading the team, but, if they're healthy (Which they definitely haven't been this year), they are a playoff team that would be tough to play against. Unfortunately they've been torn apart by injuries all year and just haven't been able to stay as competitive as they should be. I could also see one of Kesler/Perry spending the last year of their contract on LTIR, as they're both pretty beaten up at this point of their careers.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JPM</b></div><div>What do you think It would take to even out for Hopkins? A high draft pick or high prospect? Do you have any ideas?</div></div>
Talbot can be signed in preseason so no need to trade for him.
RNH would cost you for Philly a 1st rounder and middle-6 prospect centerman (Rubtsov) at very least

How the Flyers should move on from here
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JPM</b></div><div>Detroit might have 20 mil but they need to sign replacements for Nyquist who’s tied for most points on the team, Vanek who has 10 pts so far, Kronwall and a starting goalie when they don’t keep Howard. I’m literally going to make you a Detroit 19-20 team with no trades just so you can get a grasp of how out of tune you are right now man lol. I’ll tag you in the comments of it

With Lehtonen playing as well as he has this season, I don't see the Stars looking for another goalie. He's expressed his desire to sign an extension, and there's a good chance they are going to resign him to a much more team friendly deal.

Goalies will determine the Off-Season/Next Season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JPM</b></div><div>That’s not the figure that Stolie and Lyon actually get paid their both on two way contracts. This means that their probably making something near 80K not 800K. The values you indicated would be if they played full time in the NHL, which Lyon hasn’t but the amount he takes home will probably be bigger than it would be because he has dressed for so many games as the backup. On top of this Stolie has not played a game since the middle of last season which means he’ll be lucky to get the same contract he has. Hexy has proven that he likes to be cheap on contracts when he can, ie ghost only got 4.5 mil a yr for 6 yrs. Stoalie not playing for most of the season means he’s not likely to get a raise and would be lucky to get a similar salary, especially when you consider he’s a bigger guy, with recurring knee injuries, it’s been proven that this tends to not go away and may get worse. So to recap pretty much any one way contract that Stoalie or Lyon signs is a huge raise because this means they will be paid the full amount at least 650K not their AHL salaries. With the other signings I ask you to consider that Laughton had a similar situation to Martel, Hagg, and Morin except he had more NHL experience than all 3 put together and look how Hexy handled his contract situation. Hexy gave Laughton a very team friendly deal, which would be less than you have Hagg, Martel and Morin making. While maybe Hagg gets a better deal, I don’t see Hexy paying Morin and Martel that given they lack NHL experience and he signed Laughton who had a full season the year before his contact expired in the NHL ( I think he played 73 games but you can check that). All I’m saying is the past shows how Hexy handles young players in their contract years and none of the players you have resigned should be making that much money. Hagg would be the only one that you have a good argument to say that Hexy pays much more than the deal he gave laughton. Even Weal had a lot more experience when he was resigned as compared to Morin and Martel. I do really like Frost but you again have to consider Hak and Hexy and how they handle younger players and their track record says that 95% of the time they will send the player down.</div></div>
I'm not opposed to them signing for less. I'm not in Hexy's head nor am I was going ballpark. I am aware of the AHL money being less for players, you just run the risk of someone maybe paying a little more for them. I'm not 100% sure how the RFA works, but I am assuming it is similar to the NFL, you can match the deal. I was more or less going with signing who I was signing knowing that I had lots of cap room and nothing to worry about short term (3 year deals don't cripple the team and they are easy to move considering the low number of the cap). I can see how you say I am high, but I don't think I am that high on each of them, let's agree on that. Thanks for the fair criticism.

Why wouldn't Chicago just trade Hossa straight to Vegas for a second? Other than no one is giving up a 2nd for a basically retired player. Also why would Chicago want to fill in cap space created by moving Hossa with a player as bad as Lehtera?

Simmons to Toronto
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JPM</b></div><div>I may have misspoke to say Sanheim is a low tier prospect but my point is Chychurn is already a regular NHLer who was drafted in the top ten and compared to Ekblad saying he could play right out of juniors. By contrast Sanheim has been riding the pine after playing a few seasons in the AHL; and while I agree Hak is an idiot, other NHL teams will see a player who even if the coach didn’t like him wasn’t good enough to beat out MacDonald and Manning for a bottom line spot. Going forward I would say Sanheim has potential to be a top 4 Dman just by what he’s done. He’s not as physical as Hagg and his work in the zone/ defensively has been spotty at times. Chychurn averages over 20 mins of Time on the Ice already. It’s like saying you would trade Provy for Sanheim. And even if your saying the ceiling on Chychurn is equal to the ceiling on Sanheim (which I doubt), Chychurn is already more developed. The other element of the trade is a pure salary dump of Lehtera. This means that your saying Sanheim is worth Chychurn and enough to pay a guy who should be scratched every game, even if we’re paying him 4.7 mil. It won’t work for Arizona.</div></div>
Sanheim was absolutely good enough to beat out MacDonald and Manning. We just have a really stupid coach who doesn't see it. He should be in our top 4 playing with Gudas. Also Sanheim only played one season in the AHL. Chychrun was drafted 16th after he fell for some reason not top 10.

Travis Sanheim is absolutely not a low tier prospect. If our idiot coach knew how to use him he would easily be one of our top 4 d-men.
