Bruins
In my opinion this team is now just a little worse than last year which is not very productive. Either improve to contend or tear down to the core in order to begin retooling - anything in between is just pushing off actually doing something to the roster.

That kind of came out as a spotty report. The report that came out right after was that 88, JP Barry and Sweeney would sit down and talk extension in July.

Yes... so the 2022 draft pick would most likely off the table for the bruins as well because they are still gonna make a push to resign. In terms of value, ive just seen the 2022 first rounder thrown around so much on here that i figured it would be in play for NJD - I wouldnt blame them for not wanting to move it, Wright, Slafovsky, Cooley, Nemec, Jiricek etc. are all tough options to pass up as a young team with a bright future.

Doesn’t move the needle for 88. And I think a Pasta trade (if there is one) wouldn’t be before the 2022 draft.

I wouldnt expect a Pasta deal to be done prior to the 2022 draft. Him, his agent, and Sweeney are planning to meet in July about his contract and the window for him to sign is july 13th, after the draft. So unless that meeting is before the draft and goes poorly enough where there's no indication he will resign then i believe at this point the 2022 draft is off the table.

A leafs fan making a bruins post about their GMs mistakes I’d say is pretty close - but if you believe this is productive post that hasn’t been made on here 1000 times before you have then I got nothing. Have a good one

Imagine how good would the leafs be if Dubas didn’t roll over and didn’t give Matthews, Marner, and Tavares sweetheart deals that completely undermine the rest of the roster and forces them to gamble on depth and goaltending?
At least Boston has gotten out of the first round - trolling is annoying dude, this site is supposed to be fun.

Dont see the bruins having much interest in that - Id imagine that depending on the Bergeron decision, they are either going for it or rebuilding/retooling. Making the team a little worse and adding a 3rd is counter productive.

Very light for 88. I like Olausson and Behrens, but i dont think that keeps BOS on the phone very long..

a nylander trade with the enemy
Outside of the realism of this trade which you addressed, from a bruins fans perspective its not really even close to considerable. 73 is the most important player on the team and a top 5 defenseman in the NHL. It would have to be an absolute haul for the bruins to even stay on the phone.

4 Pastrnak Trades
Sweeney has expressed interest in resigning, JP Barry said they will meet with Sweeney early July to talk extension. Im not saying 88 wont get traded, but their negotiation period i believe opens up after the draft, so unless 88 explicitly expresses he wont resign no matter of the number i think the 2022 draft picks would be off the table.

Quantity over Quality- The don sweeney story
At some level - moving Pastrnak for me (unless you make a hockey trade and get a 1C, and theres not many available) would signal the right time to rebuild. So in that case, Wood/Zacha are kind of meaningless. Look for Holtz, Mercer, Mukhamadullin + picks.

Bruce there it is
Bergeron said he wont play anywhere else, and Sweeney and co. will try to negotiate with 88. their window to negotiate and get a deal done opens after the draft, so 2022 would be out of question. Nonetheless, pieces or not, rental or not - you need to be getting a 1st round pick in any trade for 88. Unless Pasta makes it very clear he wont stay, id imagine a trade (if there is one) would happen after the draft.

Boston Bruins 2223 Pasta Trade Starting Lineuo
I think its pretty unlikely that 88 gets moved before that July 13th date (i think that is the date) when negotiating starts. Once negotiations begin i think some questions will begin to answer themselves. Reason i bring this up is it takes the 2nd overall pick out of play because the draft would have already happened.
All this would change if 88 came right out and said he wasnt gonna resign - but i think BOS will try to get a deal done this offseason and then look at options if they cant get it done.

Not quite 100 percent realistic but close
Pastrnak trade is very light - id imagine the bruins would want guys more like Holloway, Bourgault, Broberg. If they wanted to avoid a rebuild and still move 88, i think guys like Bouchard, RNH, Puljujarvi would be targets.

Ideal oilers offseason with some realism
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Damien</b></div><div>I know Barrie was rumoured for a while to be a guy Boston wanted and I know Debrusk has heavy rumours to Edmonton, imo this trade makes sense assuming Boston is interested.</div></div>
To be honest I’m not sure of the validity of Barrie to Boston - but like I said EDM and DeBrusk makes sense on the oilers side of things, no whether it can make sense on the Boston side of things is a tougher question to answer and will be more clear as an uncertain off-season for the bruins begins to play out.

Ducks 2023
This trade really isn’t good for Boston. If you’re giving away a 25 goal scorer and taking on a cap dump - a 2nd round pick can’t be the best piece. Trade doesn’t make sense for Boston to begin with, and the value is lopsided.

I could be wrong, but I don’t see Barrie as a target for Boston. Think DeBrusk to EDM could be a possibility, depending on how the off-season begins to shake out

Any Interest from Boston
Personally, I wouldn’t really like this. I’m in the minority of Bruins fans but I don’t think the Ullmark deal is bad at all. Foligno deal is bad, but there are more effective ways of moving it out then this.

LAK2223
From a BOS fan perspective - Anderson is a lefty and Boston has a bit of log jam to begin with at LHD (once everyone gets healthy), I think Carlo will bounce back this year and is still an important piece.
I think Iafallo is a good player, and i think Kaliyev has the potential to be a big time goal scorer, particularly on the pp. My hang up is that he seems like the exact kind of player that Cassidy will lose trust in (for better or worse) and push down the lineup. Dont think the deal is bad by any stretch of the imagination, i just think its one that BOS would be hesitant to make, and some of the fits may be off.

To be honest, im not sure why im quoted here. Im on the same page - I was saying that i think boston would qualify him due to Gryz not starting the year healthy, Zboril coming off surgery and most likely a Reilly trade. So i guess to answer your question, i agree with your point. This isnt my thread, and its also assuming that OTT trades for Fleury, signs Bear, etc. From my perspective, Boston keeps him on a cheap, easy contract to provide a fill in when needed.
