Moving Zucker Would Not Be Cheap
I don't think you'd need to pay to move Zucker. He's still SUCH a great playdriving forward, that you could probably get very limited positive value for him. If you sent him to Carolina for a 5th or something, I would be very okay with seeing the Canes take that risk.

Tarasenko
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DogDayCaps2</b></div><div>Legare Is 20 and still playing in the Q lol that’s not really what I would consider B+ He’s maybe a C level? Irony incredibly bias comment … Zucker was in a 38 point pace and he makes 5.5m. In a “ down year” Drouin was on pace for 42 points. Lol “ I’d suggest actually knowing the players before discussing them” Tara also had a down year but last year he had 10p in 10gp that’s an 82p pace.</div></div>
Legare was still playing in the Q because the pens had no room for him on their nhl roster and weren’t going to waste a year of his contract to play him in the ahl instead. Hardly a C prospect. Drouin had 2 goals in 44 GP. That’s 7 less than Zucker and Zucker played 6 less games. Zucker also had to deal with being stuck on a line with Malkin who came into the season out of shape. Drouin is also a cancer while Zucker is a locker room leader. Again I’d suggest actually knowing the players before discussing them. You hit the nail on the head. Tarasenko had a down year and only played 10 games the year before. He’s on his 3rd shoulder surgery. No team is going to pay a hefty price to take on damaged goods.

Tarasenko
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DogDayCaps2</b></div><div>You need to give up at least something of value to the blues for Tara…. The blues will just keep him for this. The guy scores 30g and 60+P when healthy. Does Zucker even have positive trade value at this point? Maybe you could get Drouin for him 1 for 1</div></div>
I’d suggest actually knowing the players before discussing them. You’re either incredibly bias or simply just don’t know about the players involved. This is an overpay by the pens. Tarasenko is on shoulder surgery #3, has a 7.5 million cap hit for 2 years, makes 9 million in real cash this year, requested to be traded, and has a full NTC which all hurt his value quite a bit. If this was the same Tarasenko that was putting up 30+ goal seasons, or even pacing that then I’d probably agree with you. However he ain’t. Zucker even on a down year would have had 20+ goals and 20+ assists in 82 games. So yes he still has value and Drouin blows. Zucker > Drouin. Legare is a B+ prospect. Then adding a decent draft pick. Pens would say no thanks here. Unfortunately for blues fans. Tarasenko kinda tanked whatever trade value he had left by requesting a trade and being damaged goods.

HORRIBLE trade for the pens, We cannot afford to Lose ANY more picks and prospects, I’d not give up a 2nd and Legare for almost anything let alone a guy who makes 7 mil to only play 26% of his available games over the past 2 seasons. St Louis are clowns if they expect to get anything like this for Tarasenko

Perfect Offseason
I’m not an idiot like a lot of people on this site, so I won’t say it would cost Jarry, Guentzel, Marino, Poulin, POJ, and a 1st to acquire Gibson, but Jarry, Poulin, a 1st and a 2nd is likely a ballpark of the cost. Just don’t see Gibson to the pens happening. Not at that cost.

Geno possibly out long term pulling the Tampa Trick
Nobody's denying Kucherov had surgery, what people are doubting is the time line. It's pretty big red flag when he comes back the same day the salary cap no longer exists. Another red flag is the fact that he was skating a month before he came back, not just light skating but full practices. Which is why there wasn't an ounce of rust on him since day one. Argue all you want that he's just that good you're kidding yourself anyone that hasn't played all year will have a bit of rust to his game. Which is why people are only saying that he was more than ready to come back before the play offs started and should have been activated.
The NHL said they investigated and found that everything was with in the rules, but all the NHL did was look at paper work they couldn't be bothered to send their own doctors in there to get a second opinion. If they had there wouldn't be any doubt about any of this.

Blueger is so underrated its crazy. This guy is legit a perfect 3C. He plays a 200-foot game. He is great on the PK and provides offense. He has 15 points in 28 games, which in a full season, he would be on pace for 44 points..
As for D, we have Friedman as #7, Ruhwedel as #8, Riikola as #9, Weber as #10 and you always have POJ as an option. I really dont see where that dman would fit.

Also, this AGM trade was more exploratory to assess value. I appreciate all the feedback, thanks.

Now Toronto Might Really Need A Goalie
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>He has 50 NHL games spread out over 2 seasons as a backup. His numbers are fine, but he has proven nothing except that he is a good back up. I never said he was an AHL player, i said he has not proven that he is an NHL starter, This is very simple if you read what I wrote instead of projecting.</div></div>
I feel you don't really understand the situation the Leafs are in. Their goaltending is mediocore at best. With Anderson injured for any length of time it is worse than atrocious. Desmith has proven to play well in stretches at the NHL level. He is also signed for 3 years at a very affordable contract that Leafs will need out of a back up because of the very top heavy payroll.
Blood is in the water as every team with a spare goaltending knows how much trouble the Leafs are in and if they miss the playoffs it will be chaos. They know how much they need a reliable back up to fill in and relieve Anderson so he isn't over worked. To be blunt Leafs are desperate. Desmith May be their best most affordable bet. TO be honest the Pens should try to milk the situatio for all it's worth. I guarantee the Ranger will with Georgiev. I think a 2nd round pick for desmith and a 2021 3rd is low honestly based on the situation.
But hey if you don't want to pay the price for a goalie keep rolling out Hutchinson and the leafs will enjoy an early golf holiday instead of playoff hockey.

It's been a constant late for practice or meetings, like 5 mins all the time, it's like having a great employee that walks in 5 mins everyday, basically they are hoping if he makes the public apology and is scratched for a game he respects the other players time on coaching staffs time on this team

Just remember that the guy you are arguing with is a leafs fan. So no matter what your players suck and his are good. Matthews > Crosby Tavares > Malkin. There is nothing wrong with the trade itself value is fair trade helps out both teams. But does DeSmith get the W last night? Probably not, does DeSmith get the W in the 4 losses at the start of the season probably not

Like, are you serious with that comparison? I mean, if Kapanen had played 50ish games and scored 12 goals on the 2nd line and then been put in the AHL it might work, but it's not remotely similar.
and the Leafs, if their starter is hurt, they shouldnt be putting their eggs all in one basket with a guy who might be nothing more than an average backup. Like, would you be comfortable going into the playoffs with DeSmith if Jary and Murray were hurt? I doubt it.</div></div>
You cant be serious lol. DeSmith has a .917 save % and 2.66 gaa in his NHL career. The only reason he is in the AHL is because Murray and Jarry are better. Just because DeSmith is in the AHL, doesn't mean he is a AHL player, just like how Kapanen isn't a 3rd line player because he plays on the 3rd line in Toronto. Stop being this stupid
