Pretty good. CGY would want more due to the nature of Hanifin's deal. Contracts this good don't come easily. Hanifin is the better defenseman here too, so NYR should be adding, not CGY.

florida has the room to add 3.25 mill to their cap on a top 6 forward. if you can't see that then idk what to tell you lol. graphs can only take you so far lol.</div></div>
The point is that you're selling low. Denisenko is not worth Buchnevich. Certainly not *more* than Buchnevich. lol

I like our chances with Alexandrov and why I wouldn't do that is because we have cap issues already, I don't think we would do that.

2020 - 21 team nyr trade
Rangers decline and it's honestly not rly close. Not sure why you're underrating Deangelo like this...
He's basically Roman Josi at this point.
Here's an easy way of thinking about this:
<a href="https://ibb.co/SvXNyWg" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/mzCJT1K/Screen-Shot-2020-04-07-at-12-13-03-AM.png" alt="Screen-Shot-2020-04-07-at-12-13-03-AM"></a>
Josi seems clearly better right?
Now consider that Deangelo spent 50% of his ice time with Marc Staal while Josi spent 57% of his ice time with Ryan Ellis, about the same...how does that grade out?
<a href="https://ibb.co/JvdfJpv" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/ZBJnDgB/Screen-Shot-2020-04-07-at-12-13-51-AM.png" alt="Screen-Shot-2020-04-07-at-12-13-51-AM"></a>
Heck, seeing that you might think that Deangelo is a younger, cheaper (thus more valuable) version of Josi and you'd be correct.
It's weird how little you're capitalizing on such a great asset...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>I am the biggest analytical head on the website, what are you looking at? Using EH, his defensive numbers are average at best, going forward his numbers improve, but his finish isn't there. There's no way Carolina move someone as promising as Drury for a middle 6 winger like Buch when they have so many middle six wingers coming through the system. He will NEVER knock TT off that top line, because TT was around the PPG mark and he and Aho live in each others heads. Buch is a fine player, nothing against him, but there is no way, no how Carolina offer anything like this and no way they have interest in a reject from a team below them in the standings.</div></div>
Addressing some points here... particularly looking at some points you made regarding finishing, defensive numbers, etc.

Also frankly I'm not sure Drury is even a top 5 prospect in the Carolina organization. Personally I have Suzuki, Honka, Puistola, Bean, and Rees ahead of him. A lot of people also have Bokk ahead of him. But it's weird that some Canes fans haven't connected the dots that it's really Abruzzese driving the Harvard offense that's pushing Drury's point total. He's contributed on like 80% of Drury's points lol.

Wow for a guy who try to outsmart people you seem to know a little about hockey.
He didn’t have that clause in the first year of is deal because he didn’t have the number of year required that mean 7 years pro or he reached 27 year old and unrestricted free agent status. So basically any restricted free agent can’t have any clause to their contract.
That being said if the rangers gave him that clause it’s because they have no intention of moving him

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Frasier_Crane</b></div><div>the rangers are going to be looking to win now next season. probably not buyers at the deadline but they are definitely looking to make the playoffs +</div></div>
they aren't in position to win now. The gap between them and teams like BOS, TOR, PIT, WSH, CAR, is simply to great. If they were in the Atlantic I would say ok, you might be on to something as for making the playoffs. But the metro is still the hardest division in all of hockey and it's not letting up for a year or two.
NYR need to keep building up. They are on a good pace to get there, but no need to rush it. They have a year or two to keep putting it together before their window opens.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Linlan</b></div><div>The way I see it, both teams are in a decent shape to make it with only one buyout and wait the rest out
St.louis get rid of one of Allen or Steen and they can resign Pietrangelo and wait the other out
Pittsburgh have 15M cap space with 5-6 roster spot to fill out with their biggest names to resign are Murray and Jarry (20M with Hörnqvist buyout) so don’t see any need with them to drain their thin future assets on getting rid of the other</div></div>
That's because you view the buyout of JJ as a major cost. It's not. It's total cost is $5,500,000 spread out over years. It might cost a 2nd or a lower pick and B level prospect.
Either way it helps NYR rebuild. This is a team that made like 140 million in profit last year. It can afford to make the moves with a decent return.
The blues could use the cap space this year. On both. That's my opinion.

even if the cap stays flat they have 14 million in cap space.
They are fine. The only guy there going to get a big jump is Deangelo. But he won't get that big of a jump that they can't sign everyone else.
If both he and they are smart, he waits till next year anyway. They clear a lot of cap space in 1 year + the new TV deal will get done and the Expansion team money.
They will open 18 million alone Hank, Staal and Kevin partially coming off the books. This team doesn't have cap issues for players it has under control.
Which is why they don't need to do that.

What Are The Rangers Missing To Be Contenders
Pretty much agree with everyone. I would say a top pair left defenseman is key. They have plenty of left side prospects but is any one of them that top pair guy. A little thing that would be a big thing if they were really contending is a 4th line center who could win faceoffs and play good defense for late in tight games.

2020-2021 nyr tampa and kings trades
Sorry but I’m not a fan of a Hank buyout. Brendan Smith is owed $4.25M and gets a signing bonus on 7-1 I believe $2M. That leaves a team who needs to reach cap floor of a $4.35M cap hit at $2.35M real dollars for a year. That $2M savings basically represents the Hank buyout savings. I’d trade AG easily before buying out Hank and having 2 years of dead cap. Can get decent value for AG, package him with a first and move into top 10 of a stacked draft.
