I'm not even sure Stutzle makes it to number 3 If Detroit gets Lafreniere with the number 1 pick then possibly. But if Detroit gets number 2 then they easily take Stutzle with it. All depends who winds up with number 2 probably either Byfield or Stutzle land there.

I like both of them so much so at this point ill take either doesn't matter

I never said anything about not drafting Stutzle. He should go top 3. Raymound is a good goal scorer and has a good shot. Holtz isn't gonna go top 5. If you want him trade down

they still have a bunch of picks in 2021 and could accumulate more, like that's crazy

Same here, I'd be stoked with either one. Really like the Malkin comparable with Byfield and Stutzle is going to be a stud. Really can't go wrong with either one.

Stutzle is a mix of Barzal and P. Kane imo. And yeah Byfield is Malkin, the only thing that worries me is most of his points came in transition and it will be harder in the NHL with tighter defences but I think he will figure it out. he's a young dude

I think Stutzle could push for a roster spot next year. Byfield could use a year since he's still young. But he doesn't have much to prove, id like to see him go play 1 year oversees a la Matthews

Agreed, Stutzle pretty much looks NHL ready right now, Byfield could use another season in juniors or where ever he goes. Can't go wrong with either one.

it really depends what you value and what a guy can bring to your team. I really like Marco Rossi, his playmaking is very elite. And could be NHL ready quicker than others. A guy like Lundell shuts down other teams player so good and could be a real good player, not as many pts as others but something like Kopitar/Toews/Bergeron. Perfetti is a great shooter and has decent playmaking skills but his skating is average, could be something like Skinner maybe. Raymond is a more complete player, plays the PK, good shot, great playmaker. Holtz is a sniper. Its kind of like comparing Marner to Laine.

Yeah i really like Marco Rossi if we fall to 4 I'd be happy with him as a consolation prize. I was just thinking for Detroit we could use another sniper if Yzerman doesn't go for a Center or possibly defenseman say Drysdale. Would he go after Raymond or Holtz or possibly Lundell instead. Basically anyone drafting in the top 10 is going to get a very special player in this years draft.

I truly feel that you guys probably wind up with Lafreniere, just a strong hunch you have the greater odds then us with 2 top 3 picks. Lafreniere and one of Byfield/Stuzle and you're pretty set there.

I think they're going to cancel the season. The NHLPA won't agree to allow teams to play in an isolated area and no chance the US recovers by August. Tbh I wouldn't complain if they didn't do a lottery hahah

Agreed the Coronavirus was already 6 months in China, So if it's the same at the earliest would be late july early August. I think they just need to call this a season. And regroup for next year. There's already talk of another coronavirus for this coming fall that's all we need now.

Do u think playoff teams will get a shot at the lottery if the playoffs are cancelled? Will they still do a lottery or award draft positions based only on standings

Not really sure yet, I know Bettman and them are trying everything remotely possible to save at least a little bit of this season. We shall see it's still a ways off. Don't want to lose that revenue if they don't have to.

hell no, the uproar if a Boston or tampa get 1st OA by chance would be heard around the world. they will either stick with current rankings or go by win % witch is the same positions DET, OTT and SJS currently hold. bottom 15 lottery, 16 to 31 pick in order they finish by current position or by win %.
