Sujet: Eichel Who
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>My two cents (and remember, I'm a double divisional competitor): Monahan is worth DeBrusk and a first (if not more), and with Backlund, once you have DeBrusk, why do you even need Dvorak (for whom I think you're overpaying)?</div></div>
Backlund’s best at 3C in a shutdown role at this point, he provides incredibly consistent offense, but unfortunately it’s consistently 15-20 goals, ~45 points, which isn’t great for a 2C. So if we trade Monahan, we need another centre (either Eichel or Dvorak). I know Dvorak hasn’t even hit those numbers but he still has upside so that’s what would be betting on (as well as supplementing our depth with DeBrusk and our future with a 1st from Boston). So yeah not a huge fan of these trades (ideal version of this with the players involved for me would be 1st+Studnicka+DeBrusk for Monahan and Dvorak for two 2nds) but in theory it’s not terrible I guess. These lines seem pretty good if they want to shake up the room by trading Monahan in a non-Eichel package (especially if we get Studnicka for the 4C, he has higher upside than Gawdin). We could realistically get 90-100 goals from the top line, probably 60-70 from the 2nd line, 50-60 from the 3rd line, and hopefully the 4th line (with Pitlick not Lewis) can contribute like 25. This is assuming a pretty average season from everyone, no real breakouts. With Sutter bringing a lockdown defense we could be reasonably competitive.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Why tf would Calgary want Korpi?</div></div>

You know Ledge_And_Dairy, I just answered the team on "who was the worst fans on this site". I was honest in saying that even some of my fellow Flames fans were disrespectful at times, and you were first on my list. I constantly see you adding things like 'tf', 'wtf', and several other rude and disrespectful acronyms / comments throughout your replies; sometimes they even push berating. I know you will come back with something that you would probably not ever say to my face, but relax. This site was supposed to be for fun, to learn, to chat about sports etc. You are not a real GM. You are not at any level to have the respect or experience to truly respond or back up a lot of what you state. And you certainly have no right to, from a distance behind the protection of your computer, to talk to anyone the way you do. You aren't the only one, just the one I see the most on here. As much as I want to block you now, maybe you might for once have something intelligent and respectful to say. As for your ask, I personally would take "Korpi" over "Big Save Dave" any day, but that is just my respectful opinion. Life is to short to add F*&amp;%##$ to any reply, and you or anyone else for that matter are certainly not worth it.

Cheers to all those who reply respectfully and even try and help educate those trying the learn more about the game, or just have some fun.

This would be an incredibly underwhelming offseason. As such, this is likely the most realistic scenario I have seen on this site pertaining to this team. I suspect we see something similar occurring, give or take a few semantics.

I doubt it's Hall but I could see an overpriced W come in (ala Hoffman) and continuing the disappointment.

For all the talk of shaking up this "core", MAYBE one of them is dealt. They will then pontificate about how hard it is to make deals in this league and blame the cap. They've already begun laying the groundwork for the spin job on this when Tre came out yesterday and stating change for the sake of change.... blah blah blah excuses excuses excuses.

Add to that the leaked info to insiders about the mutual desire to have Brodie &amp; Talbot return. The predictable spin obviously being they will probably come "runner up" for Markstrom but simultaneously they "got their guy". I could absolutely see them trying to do too much as a result of taking (WAY) too long to make a decision on all the balls they have in the air and losing out on a more cost effective Talbot then ending up overpaying for Holtby or Khudobin. As such we are likely to see a similar iteration to this years team next year only an overpriced Brodie and then listen to more bull**** about how "tight" this group is, how much they've learned and how close they were (they weren't. By a significant margin) to advancing and further extending the long era of mediocrity this team has been know for for 16 years.

The only move I don't see happening, in addition to the Hall signing is I don't see them trading Rittich. I would wager your contract projections are pretty damn close.

For what its worth, If it's a choice between seeing what I just described and this proposal: I take this proposal and run. A slight shift of strength in the roster (which will likely have them still finishing 7th or 8th and get bounced in the first round again) but with the caveat there is at least asset acquisition so they can restock the prospect pool faster.
