The Flames only have 5 legit top 6 forwards, it does not makes sense to move Lindholm to center and push Backlund to the 3rd line and force another 3rd liner into the top 6.

I think you are too hung up on the top 6 vs bottom 6. These lines allow the team to spread the wealth and be a more well-rounded team as opposed to top-heavy as they have been in recent years

I like the idea but I dont see how Leivo would be higher in the depth chart than Dube, if anything Dube should be playing with JG and Monahan and then we can have Mange play with Tkachuk and Lindholm. The chemistry is pretty much there already so coming out the gate with those lines could have us making a deep playoff run.

hes not necessarily higher on the depth chart. I put Levio there because his history as a player shows that he excels when he is placed with high caliber players and can be the guy that is the finisher/ puck retriever for the high caliber talent that is SM and JG. levio is also really good around the net which would allow Monahan and gaudreau some more room on the ice. Dube is definetly an option on that line but im not so sure the chemistry would be there with JG an SM.
