Yeah that's a good couple of comps.... Thing that worries me is in their exit interviews, neither of them sounded like they would be willing to take a haircut to stay

Hawks trade is bad.
# of UFA signings unnecessary and light in terms of $ anywsy.</div></div>
Ullmark has a 16 team no movement clause.... My hope was that if they went to him and said hey we want to move you to SJ, you can play every game there with no competition and they're gonna extend you - that that may persuade him

Bruins back to the top
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hairyberry</b></div><div>Orlov probably gets closer to $6.5m, O'Reilly probably closer to $6m, Bertuzzi closer to $6m. You're insane to trade Ullmark for nothing, he will get a 1st from someone. I also think you could get some more back for Hall, and quite a lot more for Gryz. I don't hate the lineup though.
Although I personally think Ullmark should stay, he had 6 bad games while injured and now everyone wants to trade our (soon-to-be) Vezina-winning .938 goalie. Plus the fact the Ullmark splits starts with Swayman is the reason Swayman is so good. Give him 55+ games and he will probably not look the same.</div></div>
Agreed on the Orlov / Bertuzzi salary # ...... Frank Seravalli put something out that said he thinks the Bruins can resign Bertuzzi for $5.25 which got me excited, but still don't think it's logical

And Linus Ullmark can block 1/2 of the league, No way he's waiving for Columbus nor do they need him.
And Detroit already offered that to Tyler Bertuzzi and he said no, He wants closer to 7 x $7,000,000.</div></div>
Sean Courturier is never playing hockey again.....

Bertuzzi turned down 6m extension with Detroit, that’s why they traded him. He’ll test the market before signing that.</div></div>
Yeah you're right.... Plus his exit interview he didn't sound committed to returning whatsoever. Wishful thinking!!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pocke</b></div><div>Boone Jenner is too cap efficient, along with just generally important to CBJ, to trade for this return. I think our FO likes Mason Lohrei so he would have to be in place of Jakub Zboril (who doesn't move the needle). Can't really think of anything else on Boston that would help CBJ enough to trade such an important person so I think the deal just doesn't work.
We do need a good goalie but Ullmark has a 2 year contract and we have one we're paying $5 million and we have a young one who has to be in the NHL.
If Hampus Lindholm is on the table, maybe there's something to be done.</div></div>
Fair.... When I saw Jenner's price I was shocked

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>Can't imagine anyone wants to be the GM "who traded Bedard"
Regarding AZ. It's simple economics. Yes, Weber is sitting on the couch, but since he's out w/ a career ending injury, his contract is 80% covered by insurance. His cap hit is $7.8m. But his actual salary the next 3 years is $1m. AZ has to pay 20% of that ($200,000). If you can only sell 4,600 tickets per game, would you rather pay Weber $200k to sit at home, or the 3 Bruins $8m to play for you. Same cap hit. Really a pretty easy decision I think.
That's why they traded for Little and Voracek too. The 3 have a cap hit of roughly $21m. But they only cost AZ about $2.5m in real money. Pretty ideal for a team with such a limited revenue stream.</div></div>
Well that makes complete and total sense. Learn something every day! Thanks

Yes - the Boston Globe trade. I agree with you - if I'm Chicago, the 1st pick is just not for sale.
Curious on AZ though.... why would they decline? Their main concern is reaching the debt floor, and if you can trade the rights to a guy on his couch for 2D that would be top 4 on their team - without moving further from the debt floor, that sounds like a home run to me. No?

Bruins Off-Season 2023
Swayman gets offer sheeted and let walk
Krejci is absolutely not more likely to retire than Bergeron, that's just flat out not true
Tatar and Toews bring a veteran presence to the middle of the lineup. Toews adds leadership in a time of transition, and Tatar has been great this year.
Krejci is getting a raise after a great season. He took a $1 million salary to come back to win a cup. Had a blast this year playing with high end guys. And would come back for another year at a fair number.
Overages don't need to be accounted for prior to the season.
You are such a pompous tool on every Bruins thread, it truly never gets old....

Auston Matthews is counting down the days to get out of Toronto. He will be on a plane the first day of next off season. You could trade him to Guantanamo Bay and he would waive his no trade rights just to get the **** out of Toronto. If you think you're getting a haul for him you are sadly mistaken, if will be a clone of the Patrick Kane / Aaron Rodgers situation at next year's deadline

Anyway, you must think Montgomery is really bad at his job given that he used Nosek more than any other forward in penalty kill situations. Should he be fired before the season is out? Also its one heck of a coincidence that the bruins had the best PK in the NHL when Nosek was in the lineup, and when he’s been out of the lineup, they rank 26th.
Regarding adding players that will be healthy scratches: maybe this is your first season watching, but sometimes in the national hockey league, players get injured. It’s good to have capable replacements in playoff runs. Historically good teams don’t need major surgery.
When everyone thinks you’re wrong, might be time to re-examine your position.
I’d recommend unfollowing jimmy murphy and joe haggerty on twitter, and stop listening to felger and mazz. They don’t know what they’re talking about.
Goodnight sport!</div></div>
But Nosek is out and they're still 1st in the league on PK? Do you just pull **** out of your ass to come off as intelligent? You're a moron
