If we are trying to make a cup run in 37/46's final years, how the hell do Bjugstad, Schenn, and Parise help us seal the cup?

Let's just take 3 has-beens, and put bring in two as a healthy scratch and one that is no better than Greer. What a *****, soft trade dealing outline. Schenn cant crack the starting 6.

3RW can be upgraded, bumping Frederic to 4C and deservedly knocking Nosek out of the lineup is the right move to make - making Nosek F13 if you can trade Smith and a 5th for a 7th. Nosek adds nothing. But by your measure, lets not add any pieces that can help, and we'll just grab our ankles, eh?

I made that before the horvat trade, so the parise option likely isn’t out there, but it’ll give you a good idea of the needs i see for this team.

Are you trying to win the Stanley Cup with this roster, or just kick rocks around? Zach Parise isn't an upgrade on anybody and you want to give up a 3rd and a 4th for him?!

Nothing more exciting than bringing in Bjugstad and Schenn to be scratches! Coyotes don't take that trade - Smith has zero value and a 3rd round pick isn't nearly enough to get them to take him. Mason Langenbrunner is essentially a healthy scratch at Harvard and a favor pick to the worst development coach in the league - Jamie Langenbrunner.

I actually like the Schenn trade and agree with you that he isn't good enough to crack the top 6.

But instead of these wildly underwhelming moves that don't impact anything, why not make the team better?

Nosek is not their top PK forward. Bergeron, DeBrusk, Coyle all better. Nosek adds nothing to the lineup, he's slow and sluggish. They've been wanting Frederic in that 4C role for years and now it looks like he's going to be able to run with that role. Jack Roslovic is a great add to the top 9, Lysell is trash and isn't going to pan out, and Grzelcyk is not a guy you win in the playoffs with. His +/- last year in the playoffs was the 2nd worst in Bruins history, behind Don Sweeney. Gavrikov is big, bullish, and a stud. This trade rounds out the bruins in all facets.
