Pass on Cirelli if it costs Norris. That's a nonstarter. Also if Hamonic was willing to come to Ottawa, no way am I trading for Montour. Rather keep Reilly as the 7th D and Play Zub.

Can this be Roussel or Sutter instead? We're getting more wingers in so Roussel is less useful and Sutter while he is better, costs more. I am more fine with Beagle playing one more year for us than others.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blep</b></div><div>I’d hate to see the Sens pay for a goalie this offseason.
If Nilsson is done I’d rather see them roll with Hogberg, Daccord/Gustavsson and if needed just some random goalie off waivers or get paid to take on one of the brutal existing nhl goalie contracts out there.</div></div>
In his stint this season, Hogberg has shown that he’s ready

Arizona gets fleeced.
Risto is worse than Goligoski and has another year of cap
Hutton is worse than Raanta
Oesterle is worth more than a 4th
6th and 7th are practically nothing

A lot of glaring omissions on this roster. Batherson, Formenton, Norris will all be on this team.

SvenStecher out for picks
Like I said in your other post wildly in VAN's favour getting cap relief and getting the 32nd overall pick is just to much even if you give us Stecher which isn't a huge plus in my mind.

Baertschi wasnt even claimed on waivers.
Were not taking 3 cap dump and paying you for it, let alone 33 and 63 OA

This doesn't make any sense. I can't even rebuttal an offer, it's just nothing. I like Stetcher but the other two have negative value. We can't get decent picks for negative players. Those 3 for a 2022 7th is still a no from Ottawa.

Ottawa Senators signed Mark Kastelic (3 Years / $821,667 AAV)
Love this. Not a super high upside, but he's a big, mean centre who is a great penalty killer. He's going to take some seasoning before he ever gets close to the NHL, but he could very well be the next Zach Smith.

Ottawa dump cap sharks get 1st back
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blep</b></div><div>•Ottawa has around 40M in cap space this summer and big contracts of Bobby Ryan and Gaborik off the books in the next couple years. Any massive raises in the near future aren’t an issue.
•Sens need Bobby Ryan’s contract to be cap compliant next year, especially with the potential of two new ELCs on the team from this years draft (lol).
•Hogberg looks promising and Nilsson has a year left. It’d be a horrible idea for them to get a goalie this offseason.
•If Ottawa has a glut of draft picks that all pan out, not only will they be stacked while the players are on the team, but they’ll be able to trade RFA contracts if a cap crunch is ever an issue.
•I think there’s almost zero chance the Sens trade SJ’s pick, and an even less chance they trade it for this package.
:)</div></div>
Your right I know!!! But a guy can hope!!! every day that passes I hate that karlsson trade more and more it depleted our prospects took a top 3 pick in a crazy good draft year and his mammoth contract is killing our ability to retool our roster. To boot he has been a terrible defensive defenseman and he looks uninterested in playing.

Ottawa dump cap sharks get 1st back
Ottawa is already risking cap minimum every season. Ryan isn't a dump they can or want to do. Certainly not shipping a good pick for someone they'll have to replace. If this was an idea it would have been before karlsson was moved. No chance from Ottawa's end.

No way Rossi falls to #11 he's easily top 5 pick this year. Detroit takes Rossi #4 over Drysdale we need Center help not another RHD.

A definite NO. Neal is having a bounce back season, but he is not going to get you a 23 year who has more goals and is trwnding up and Filipula's deal is up next season.
It is a bad deal for Wings a rebuilding team not a team who is looking to get older.

Ottawa uses draft capital
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jameshgfgn</b></div><div>They already have 2 picks that are going to be high and statistically there is a large drop off the in hitting in after the second pick in a draft even with a draft as deep as this one seemingly is. It’s just math take the player who is already proven over the mystery box especially when you have two higher mystery boxes</div></div> That kind of thinking gets GMs fired. Labanc is a good player but certainly not worth close to 15th overall. Especially after this past year. Cirelli would be the much better target.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Canoehead</b></div><div>May as well wait until the draft lottery on April 9th to see the true value of that 1st rounder</div></div> Lottery doesn't really matter for that pick, if it turns into a top 3, it doesn't belong to Ottawa.

Youngsters sink or swim
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blep</b></div><div>The Sens are getting pummeled nightly as is. I also think there’s a difference between taking a Junior player and putting him in a top line role vs taking an AHL player and playing him in a bottom 6 role.
I’d say all these guys have excelled in the AHL, and are due for promotions. Some of the young players will struggle but it’ll be clear who’s worth keeping in next summers expansion.
Time will tell which direction they go in, but I’d hate to see them lose Connor Brown for nothing in expansion, or leave a guy like Chlapik in the minors to dominate, just to see him become the next William Karlsson on Seattle.</div></div>
Again agree.
The situation in Ottawa is so delicate. The owner is toxic, yet the team this year was surprisingly scrappy. They had fight. They didn't quit. (Note: Smith should get some Adams recognition imo).
Certainly there are a number of Bellevegas Sens ready to graduate - but the bulk are forwards. Do you play these kids to get destroyed nightly, or make moves that just might begin to breed a winning culture?
I don't see this team making the playoffs next year, however, a couple shrewd moves with the blueline I think they hang around. Even if you bring back Hainsey for a year (he somehow is still relevent!). The bulk of blueline simply isn't ready, and that gap needs to be bridged. I did an AGM where I moved Tierney for Montour (some suggested Miller). The blueline looked healthier.... more competitive with that move imo, while allowing kids to better develop in Belleville.
Moving players like Tierney for more draft capital at this stage is counter productive - although Melnyk may see it differently.
This offseason for the Sens is delicate. Wrong moves could set this back. Oileritis could seep in. Just see the blueline as you have constructed it as being problematic in micing the needle forward.

I agree. But you have to bridge the gap too. Bringing up the youngsters to get pummeled nightly doesn't breed a healthy culture..... Edmonton Oilers - Exhibit A.

I am all for moving Tierney, but you need to land a RD. Beyond Chabot and Zaitsev (who has been solid enough this year), that blueline is AHL caliber at best. Fill it out man!
