The way a good team plays as a team. It's not an individual sport......
Is it not okay to want to know what players make their teams better and what players make their team worse? Stats help us evaluate individuals. The team is made up of said individuals.

Yeah, but advanced stats are misunderstood as they don't tell everything.

The only people who misunderstand stats are those who cannot read them. CORSI has been proven to be the most effective and efficient way to measure individual offensive possession and output.
Either get with the times or keep on making advanced analytics a scarcity in the market and drive up Charlie O'Conner's human capital

I can't read them because i don't care about them that much, so why learn? Advanced stats are really weird ... if it's all about advanced stats Tyler Myers is better than Bo Horvat ... i this Myers is a good player, unlike most, though he's no Horvat.

So you will really on your uncles Dan and Marc to tell you who the best players are?
Marner, Nylander and Marleau are wingers. Marleau hasn't played center in at least 10 years, Marner played one or two seasons their in junior, and Babcock has already said Nylander is going to stay on the wing for a while.
nhl.com says they are centres ... wikipedia calls them centres/wingers. They can play centre or wing. Chances are they move a few of them to the wing, but they can all play centre.

Who in this world even goes on NHL.com anymore???
I only go there to check the standings and stat leaders
1) you use it
2) it's bulls***
3) seriously, it's bulls***, bigtime
seriously, what's so bad about it?
The NHL doesn't have a ton of interest in keeping it up to date. The hardcore fanbases that want to most accurate, up to date information use sites like CapFriendly or HockeyReference, and the NHL knows that. Their site is aimed for more casual traffic, and because of that they often have out of date rosters, etc.
I personally only ever go to NHL.com to actually watch the games (and occasionally browse their news section, but even it is incredibly slow to update. If you don't believe me, try tracking the trade deadline based of their news site. They'll "break" a trade that twitter posted an hour before lol)
