Smith at his full cap hit for FC would be a good return. He’s worthless at 5M. The amount of teams that need a goalie can fit on about 3 fingers. It wouldn’t be a pretty return for Jarry without retaining or sending another asset back.

Either they are too valuable (in which case they wouldn’t be moved) or they are under performing (in which case, no one is going to give up assets or cap space to acquire them). NHL GMs beware - giving goalies big $ & term is biggest risk in the game; league is littered with under performing goalies with big cap hits and term
