Yeah exactly. Pending ufa ends up going for way less cause the acquiring team basically has to cave on whatever that player wants for a contract. In TK’s case, if the Sabres have to give in to his demand for 9 mil a year, you can bet the farm the flyers aren’t getting a lot back in the deal

Why though? The cap is going up, he's 27 years old and deserves a long contract like that, I don't get why this would diminish the value. He's also exactly the type of player BUF needs right now, on the ice and in the locker room.
