What would the cost be

Description
What would need to be added on either side? ANA has a very good young 1-2 punch at C, they need some skilled wingers.

Meanwhile, Zegras is expendable with Carlsson and MacTavish on the roster

We also need wingers that match our teams timeline if we're giving up a core piece to acquire, so TK is out on the grounds he is too old, to say nothing of his coming salary demands.

Foerster and this year's first would be the demand. Maybe you could convince us to exchange Foerster for Tippett and a sweetener.

Your premise is incorrect. Zegras is projected to be a LW next season and is one of the five core forwards we expect to have for the balance of this decade (all are under team control past 2029-2030): Gauthier at LW, Carlsson and McTavish at C and Terry at RW. Trading Zegras for Konecny is simply exchanging one core forward for another; that doesn't advance the team. And with his face-off and defensive deficiencies, I don't think that you or Tortorella would like Zegras at C.

I wouldn't trade Tippett for Zegras straight up, he's our best offensive player behind TK, was clocked multiple times as the fastest skater in the NHL last year, and imo has 35+ goal potential and is locked up on a favorable deal if he hits his high end ceiling. I would have no issue parting with Foerster but flyers aren't moving #12 unless its going to be to move up. There are multiple players they want. They would be more likely to move the 2025 pick.

I understand the philosophy of trying to match your teams timeline, but you've been in this not competing era for far too long, you're draft picks are finally starting to produce results, and you don't want a 27 year old scrappy two way winger who has put up close to a point per game in the last two seasons? He's virtually one year into his prime and with the cap going up, you're not gonna get a deal like that in 2/3 years for the same player. He'd be a great linemate for a guy like Carlsson and a great leader in the room, and we are legit in year two of rebuilding, you guys have missed the playoffs for 6 straight years now. When do you guys exit the, he's not in our timeline, conversation?

It's not a matter of not wanting him at all, sure, we'd like to have him, but we're not willing to move laterally to an older player with one of our core youth to acquire him. We're looking to add to our young core, it doesn't make sense to trade the young core for older players.

If you want an older roster player and picks prospects, then sure, but asking for one of our key young pieces doesn't work for us.

You're not getting a young top 6 C for only Foerster, he's a good start but Philly has to add a lot to get the deal across the line. It's not a great draft, there aren't going to be top line pieces at 12, they'll be middle 6 when they hit the show in 3 years time.

If you guys view Zegras as a wing, fine, I thought he was viewed as a Center, and with Carlsson and MacTavish's skill, you're going to put one of these as a 3C, which is great, but you're gonna lacking on the wing. And older player is a stretch, TK is 27, Zegras is 23, it's not like you'd be trading for a Stamkos.

But I digress, best of luck brotha.
