Flames can retain too, but we want Cowan, not Minten

Swapping Rooney and Jarnkrok (if he’s cool to return) could be an option as well

Leafs can find a good UFA cheaper than 6m and keep Minten and a first.

This seems OK, but I think NJD or LA or someone else could offer more. I assume adding Lily and a 3rd would be closer

Just saying we would retain to get the better prospect, but if not and there’s no retention, we’d probably be lucky to get this return. I imagine TOR wanting retention and trying to unload cap on us at the same time though

Hehe, don't get greedy. Obviously Cowan straight up would be a great add. That said, I really doubt the Leafs are going to move him.

This package works for me, but it seems the Flames are really trying to move into the 10-15 range in this year's draft, so they could get Yakemchuk.

You do realize the GM of the Leafs is the guy who brought Markstrom to Calgary in the first place? BB thinks Markstrom is a god amongst goalies.

I just know CGY isn’t interested in doing business with TOR/Treliving, so it’d have to be an over pay lol

I don’t see CGY being interested in another Offensive RD in Yamenchuk given they have Miromanov & Brzustewicz. They’re more likely looking for Centre Depth or will try to Flip that pick for a Young Established NHL Centre instead

They know him very well from playing with the hitmen. If we manage to get another top 15 pick he's the guy we're getting.

Cowan is a good prospect not a great prospect.

Yakemchuk should be a target but he won't last that long. He's probably gone before 9th even, I expect the Senators will take him at 7th if he's still available then. If any one of Lindstrom, Iginla, Dickinson and Yakemchuk is still available at 9th Calgary better take him. That's assuming Celebrini and Levshunov are both gone long before then. I'd prefer Dickinson or Yakemchuk over Levshunov anyhow.

I think he's a great prospect. He was an absolute stud in the OHL! I think he lead the league in scoring in the playoffs, and was 2nd in P/GP through the regular season.

When the top D prospects were asked who's toughest to defend, his name comes up along with Bedard. That's not a coincidence. Anyway, I would be extremely happy if he were a Flame.
