If you have Marner, Nylander, Domi on right side…being lefty-heavy at center may not be a bad thing.

Pageau is a playoff performer. He's a very versatile guy. But I doubt the Leafs will make a smart trade like this.

I’d do that Pageau trade for Jarnkrok

Isles downgrade and add on an extra year of term. That’s not worth the cap savings. Jarnkrok MIGHT work and even that’s not a perfect situation

Timmins is just a stop gap until the trade deadline. Webber just gets auto rostered by cap friendly. I usually just leave him to show the leafs have space for 1 extra guy. Fair point on The 2.6, I prefer Roy/Laughton over Pag but they’ll cost assets.

Marner makes domination money, and he doesn't dominate. Getting 11 million dollar a year puts you in the league of McDavid, Draisaitl, Barkov, MacKinnon. Marner doesn't dominate like they do.

Pageau, for a 5 million dollar player, punches above his weight. If Marner were getting paid 8 million a year his numbers would definitely look better. But at 11 million you have to dominate and be a star every single night. He hasn't done that in the playoffs.
