Edmonton isn't trading Ceci for nothing though. If they move him it'll be for a 2nd+. He's been excellent over the last 10 games, allowing just 2 GA (all situations),the fewest in the league, while playing the 3rd most TOI at 5v5 among Oilers defensemen.

Kulak has struggled to switch sides, I don't see any value putting him on the the right side permanently.

Fair enough. I traded Ceci, because of Kulaks 2nd year on his deal. I’m also not a fan of putting Kulak on his off side, but I also wouldn’t want Nurse, Ekholm, nor Broberg there either. Personally, I’m not a fan of Kulak.. I would rather keep Ceci over him. Due to the 2nd year, I think that will be the reason why he gets kept over Ceci, and he has been getting top 4 minutes here, so I am thinking that Holland, and Knoblauch may like him enough.

I think Janmark, Brown and Carrick will ask for a little more. Probably what DR makes plus a little extra. Lavoie costs at least 920k to resign. Henrique will not sign that cheap either. Even if he takes a discount I can see him signing $4mnx2y.

The biggest issue I see is the Bertuzzi contract. The length of the contracts makes is almost impossible to extend 29 and Bouchard next season. I hope Jackson first extends the both of them to see how much cap space is left. Maybe Bertuzzi is willing to sign only for one year like he did in Toronto.

Would it not make sense for the Oilers to get rid of Jack Campbell’s contract? Trade a first and a decent prospect to a rebuilding team with cap space??
