This trade is one I may not make tomorrow but I think based on the points above a message needs to be set and a culture changed.

That's not gonna happen because we don't have another blue chip RHD in the system right now. Also the era of mega trades is over. There hasn't been a massive blockbuster in years that would ship out 3+ 1st round equivalent picks so people need to take that into consideration. KJ (a previous 5 OA) and the 1st this year (4OA) would be by far the best package you would even think about the league giving you at this time for future stock.

last time i checked Brady is signed for 4 more year, OTT dont have to trade him. a team wants him they need to pay up or get lost.

and TBF apart from 4th and Fantilli (CBJ is not going to move him) NOTHING in CBJ would be of interest from CBJ. Jiricek, KJ are not player/prospects that OTT would want as center peice for Brady.

Lindholm likely gets more. He's rumored to have an 8-year, 50+ mill offer from Van on the table, though unlikely he takes it at this point. As much as I don't love it, he's got to be the main FA target for the new regime. The fit does just seem obvious, and then in a year or two when Fantilli's ready for the big time, you have eliminated the scramble for a 2C that recent contenders have had to do.

If the third is in there, I probably add one more low-level piece to the Columbus side along with KJ (injury issues, after all) and the 4OA. Someone in the tweener range, maybe even Ceulemans since they seem to be keen on RHD.

Hold onto Provorov til the deadline. Plenty of depth to move out. Both New Jersey and Florida dearly need bottom sixers next season. I would also personally look for a Jenner trade, but that's not happening.

Not a bad idea to hold onto provorov but if we don’t get lindholm, which is the more likely situation, then sign a player like Matt grizz from the bruins (forget how to spell full last name). I loved the trade initially but just too many one off mistakes. He’s gotta go. Fewer minutes and better forwards to pass too will make him a great player.

Grz is a great target, good thought. I also like Kulak for a 2/3LD spot as Mateychuk matures. Signed for two more years and Edmonton might let him go for cheap to free up the cap.
