This is a weak UFA pool and signing guys just to sign them isn't a way to rebuild. If the current CHI roster is, say, a 30-win team then what does adding Lindholm make it?

I was thinking the same thing. But, having him could make them a better team in the future, too. So, it's a matter of perspective. Personally, I say let some team that needs him sign him. He is that piece you go out and get when no one can seem to stick at 2C and you need that solid 2-way center for your top 6 as one of your "final touches". Someone like him would've been fantastic for CHI in like 2015 to 2021.

I think no - sounds more like a setup where a guy generates regular season point totals on a mediocre team.

Exactly. A contract like that has a large chance of becoming a problem in a few years rather than a positive piece. He is a "win now and figure it out later" piece for other teams, not for a rebuilding team.
