I don't think the Islanders need to add a 4th to the Ehler's trade. Guys on here seem to think a straight 1for 1 would work for both sides.

I don't think you will ever get anything close to that for Nelson.

For Marco, I think Guerin ideally would want a different young top-six player with size who will help the Wild beyond next season. If he decides to move on from the potential of Rossi, then you better bet he’ll want potential in return. Would love Brock on the team next season, but just him for one year doesn’t do it for me. Add a solid D prospect who is close to playing in the league, then maybe there’s a conversation to be had.

Sam Bolduc has been a bit of a bust, and Robin Salo seems to have fallen out of favor with the org, so Calle Odelius and Isaiah George are the best D prospects currently in the Isles’ system - while neither would be easy to part with, both might remain at least a year or 2 from breaking into the league - - I appreciate your input, and I’m trying to think of a more palatable solution to make this trade work for both sides.

Islanders have nothing available that would be what the Wild are looking for in a Rossi deal. Similar aged, similar caliber prospect, just a player with more size and aggression.

I can't see the Devils having any interest here. We could a LHD better than Bahl, and a good 3C, but not such underwhelming returns for our top shutdown RHD.
