I kidnap all Buffalo fans in objection to this trade and fly both players, on my own dime, first class to buffalo.

You’re going to have a hard time kidnapping several thousand people. And frankly, we’re adults, it’s abduction now. It should be a cold day in hell before the Sabres trade away their best prospect for an overpaid third line Center who might score 30 points next year and a fourth line goon. But somehow that’s not enough, you want a fourth round pick too. 😆

So even tho Laughton has had back to back 40 point seasons and was on pace for 40 points in both of the Covid shortened seasons, he’s going to regress more than 25% of his point total?

I’m expecting him to be playing with reduced ice time in this scenario. At least compared to whatever he was getting in Philly, As he probably rotates between third and fourth line duties. Buffalo doesn’t need to add a significant point scorer To the top six like some people think, they just need to get some kind of production out of the bottom six and that would make a pretty big difference. Is Laughton better than most of what they already have in those positions? Yes, but he’d never be worth a top prospect or a first round pick, and $3 million is a lot to pay for a 3rd or fourth line player. That’s what Greenway is already getting.
