Love it when Ducks fans cry their eyes out if other fanbases try to trade for their "untouchables", then proceed to trade for actual untouchables.

Other fan bases offer crap for our "untouchables", that's the objection we take.

Now don't you have a first round exit to be watching?

I think this is something Flyers could accept as it's going w/o retention.

Risto ain't bad and has improved a lot with Torts and Shaw, just ~1,5M overpaid.

laugh What do you think? That pick could be Macklin Celebrini and your top RHD prospect and it would still be turned down. You guys cry on the Zegras returns. This is nowhere near getting Mo Seider out of Detroit add Zegras and Carlsson for a start.

We're tired of seeing 1-2 late first and a cap dump for Zegras from Montreal, as I'm sure half this site is, so let's quit overdoing it about the "crying" part.

But as always, good to see you come into an ACGM and **** all over everything with a wild hot take.

The only Ducks prospect I’ve seen rival fans trade for is Zegras and he is nowhere near the level of Seider; preposterous to think Detroit would trade him 🤦🏻

laugh A wild hot take, Mo Seider is already an elite franchise RHD better than any one you have or will ever have. He's easily a future Norris candidate. Would you give up Carlsson for that offer. The answer is no and Seider means as much to us as Carlsson means to you. Sorry but a 3rd overall pick in a week draft and a RHD prospect who will never be in the league of Mo Seider doesn't cut it.

No Detroit doesn't consider this. Think of it this way, it would have to hurt to the point you wouldn't do this for seider.

How is 3OA and a top prospect a crap offer? When's the last time a top 3 pick was intentionally moved?

Far as I can tell it was 2001 when the Isles traded 2OA, Zdeno Chara, and Bill Muckalt for Alexi Yashin.

Every top 3 pick that's been traded since then has been an oops where the pick ended up being top 3 when it shouldn't have.

How does a top 3 pick not hurt? I didn't offer the EDM 1st, a 2nd next year, and a meh prospect.

Doesn’t tickle the fancy. If Detroit moves Seider, they have to find another Seider, and the 8-year playoff drought which was almost ended this season gets pushed back.

The D for next year would be:
Edvinsson-Petry
Walman-Maata
Chiarot-Holl
(Obviously they’d sign someone. But woof)

The ability to talk out of both sides of your mouth is truly outstanding going from "add Zegras and Carlsson" to "Seider means as much to us as Carlsson does to you". Is the offer worth taking for Carlsson, probably not in my opinion, but it's also not insultingly low either as you claim it to be.

Fair reasoning, I would assume they sign someone and Luneau looked good in his short stint in the NHL this year. I'll be curious to see if Sieder gets bridged or a long term deal, I wonder if contract asks become a sticking point with Stevey Y

Well 3rd also doesnt translate to a guy entering his prime whose #1 dman today who just blocked 200 shots and 200 hits, 1st time done since 05/06. Plus the matchups he had to do this year. I said hurt to the point you wouldn't want to do it. Like something outrageous.

This draft class is pretty meh. Outside of Celebrini, which I would still be hesitant to consider if Luneau was attached, I don't think there's a single guy who would've gone top-10 in the 2023 draft.

I understand that looking outside-in, Seider had a down-season, however he is being deployed drastically different than he was in his rookie season. Once Detroit gets some quality pieces on the back-end (Edvinsson and Johansson next year is HUGE), he'll likely be deployed similarly to his rookie season (closer to Makar and Hughes Deployment), allowing him to flourish once again.

I should state that calling it cruddy is overblowing it, but that doesn't mean it's good.

SY typically doesn’t like handing out the long term and does prefer bridging, but with the cap rising he may see a benefit of going 8 with the main core pieces. It would be a kick in the pants if Seider ends up signing a bridge and than ends up costing 10+ in a few years.

It’s hard to imagine SY sending out an established 22yo RHD already playing top line that could be retained for most of his prime.

I get Mo is very good, but Luneau will be a very very good player in this league, and was a steal in the second round. You also get a chance at the 1st pick. I don’t like this trade for either teams though. Anaheim could really build there franchise around Luneau and this pick and the same if you guys.

Detroit is at the end of the rebuild. On the back end, Mo has arrived, Edvinsson joins full time next season. Wallinder/Johansson aren’t far behind…. Followed by ASP.

In net, Cossa and Augustine are developing nicely.

Up front, Danielson and Kasper seem like a nice 2/3C combo behind Larkin (assuming their development continues). Winger will be the position of need as it’s the weakest in the prospect pipeline.

Interesting little history dive, Stevey Y and Verbeek took over from Holland before the 2019 draft in Detroit, their draft picks in the first round were Seider, Raymond, and Edvinsson. Steven Y's first "miss", if you can call it that, was after Verbeek left in Kasper.

Really is too bad wings fans had to suffer under Hollands inability to draft. I'm wondering now if Verbeek looked at the 2020 draft and decided he wouldn't have taken Drysdale at 6 and hence that's why he traded for Gauthier.

Little weird to call a barely 20 year old a miss given how he's been playing the 2nd half of this AHL season.

But go ahead and do your thing...
