Description
My perspective is if Montreal win the Celebrini lottery, Kent Hughes will likely gonna be more open to trade away somes draft picks and somes prospects.

Not putting Celebrini at C would be a mistake. Maybe in his first season or two on the wing, but longer term not using as a center would be foolish. I would pretty easily play him at 2C over Dach and move that tin soldier to 3C or on the wing.

Something that I can also see is that :

Slafkovsky - Suzuki - Necas
Caufield - Celebrini - Dach

Yes, my thoughts IF the Habs can get Necas or someone similar. Sliding Dach over to the wing or moving him to 3C makes more sense if they land Celebrini.

The Habs are the most likely team to make once again a big splash in the Draft.

Dach isn't a 3C, he is a top 6 foward. Likely gonna hit the 60-70 pts mark next season.

If we get Celebrini there is no need for Necas. Also, based on the Fiala trade, you are giving too much here.

You are also giving up WAY too much to trade up. Detroit gave 23, 48 and 138 to go to 15 and draft Cossa. You are giving the equivalent of 2 first, a second and a third

The value is certainly good here, but im more in favor of us using the pens pick to trade up as opposed to back. Maybe if our guys get taken and we cant make a trade

Dach is a tin soldier...he has never been able to play a complete pro season after 5 years. I agree he's a top 6 player when healthy, but betting on him being healthy for a full season is a big risk. I would also argue, the 3C role is more important than a #3 or #4 winger in the top 6 role.

Yes, if we try to max term everyone. If we don’t, not really, especially with the super cheap buyout of KK possible. No need to sell off a young, top 6 piece for futures.

I make a ACGM about the 24-25 Carolina Hurricanes and their cap situation.

You have unnecessarily added expensive pieces to push a point. We don’t need to give Drury that deal. No need for Henrique.

Noesen isn’t staying for that. Walker will get good money from someone else

You could go either way with this. Starting a center on the wing (less responsibility) until he adjusts to the speed the game. It's a fairly common move.

That's was also my point. This top-9 have Suzuki, Celebrini, Dach, Monahan and Newhook who can play at C.

I remember seeing somes comments about Stamkos, Bergeron, etc.

Sometimes, that's happen that somes players gets multiple injuries during few seasons, and after that, didn't miss a single game during few seasons.

Don’t know much about Harris but his possession metrics are awful and Alexyev has been great since Edmundson was traded out at the deadline since he’s been getting consistent minutes. I think most caps fans would be more than happy to keep Alexyev in the lineup upwards of 90% of the time, meaning there’s not a real need for Harris. Especially not at that cost.

Yeah but with Dach you even go back to when he was in the juniors. He's not a very smart player in my opinion, never thought that about him even the year before the draft. Has skill and size, but doesn't know how to best utilize it and protect himself

I think he is more unlucky. And also, I don't see how he improved his play with the Habs and under St-Louis.

But Montreal fired all their training staff last offseason and they hired Jim Ramsay, the ex-trainer of the NYR for during like 28 years (and the NYR was at the time the healthiest team in the league).

Unlucky 6 years in a row (5 in the NHL + the prior season in juniors)....is not unlucky, that is a lack of awareness
