Yeah like if the devils would be willing to include Nemec then its a totally different conversation as to what the other pieces are, but there needs to be something (somethings) we need/can use down the line in a significant role

Yeah Marino, Holtz and a 1st next year is just a sell low package for Brady.

The starting piece needs to be equivalent to a top 5-6 pick or similar player. Maybe not on the level of Stutzle/Sanderson but not worse than 1 step below

This offer is equivalent to like Chytil, Kakko and a late 1st which the Sens never consider.

      Marino isn’t good at all

I think for me if the sens are trading Tkachuk, they need to get 2 pieces who can make up for his impact on the aggregate and then some. It would be a lot more enticing if it was Mercer instead of Holtz, and the 2024 1st instead of 2025, but it has to be worth setting the sens timeline back a few years. If they are trading Tkachuk they are probably also committed to trading Batherson, Giroux and guys like Jospeh as well, which is doable, but if we move our best player there needs to be an avenue to elevate the ceiling of the team down the line and I dont think this does that as is

Mercer + 2024 1st seems plausible. Or if NJD win lottery, I suppose that pick could be too (Celebrini for Brady)

The real wild card would be sending Dougie to Ottawa. Was hurt this year, so probably not optimal time to trade him. But with Nemec’s arrival, Casey on his way…I wonder how much it would be considered (for either side). Would probably have to be some salary offsets too.

Nemec was offered 1 for 1 for 8 years of Matthew Tkachuk at 9.5 million dollars.

NJD will offer jesper bratt for Jake Sanderson, and we can have a discussion on what the other pieces are from ottawa. That's what we're talking about here with nemec, except Nemec still has 2 more years at 900k while Sanderson is at 8+ mill now

There wouldnt be any interest in Hamilton imo. The only way we trade Tkachuk is if the futures package gives us an avenue to elevate the team around Sanderson/Stutzle/Pinto in 3 years(ish). Dougies a really good player but if were trading tkachuk for him, we may as well just keep Tkachuk because it doesnt change the timeline or our ceiling.

I’d rather get a piece to build around . Like it has to start with a Nemec or top 6 pick imo for me to consider

I would imagine any picks would be available. We have all our firsts. Holtz, Casey, Hameenaho, etc available. Mercer maybe. Pretty much anyone not named Hughes, Bratt, Hischier, Nemec.

No, I think since ottawa apparently values #POWERFORWARD so much, we should offer Timo Meier for Jake Sanderson. Clearly Sanderson doesn't throw enough #HITZ for ottawa's liking.

There will be better starting piece offers than Mercer imo.

If Casey was over 6 foot , I would be interested but I’m not.

I wish I could attach a picture because Holtz and Marino have brutal analytics . I will pass. Mercer won’t be able to get to 40pts this year

I like Hameenaho but not as more than the 3rd or 4th best piece in a Tkachuk trade

Sanderson is a #1 2 way Dman who posts strong results at both ends at 21 years old while facing top lines every game and is not sheltered yeah good luck with that.

The only player Sanderson would be available for is Jack Hughes

Yeah but Calgary didnt take that deal so its a moot point.

The Sens are not trading a 6’4 power forward for a 5’10 small soft winger no matter how skilled he is. Brady would never be traded for Marner, Bratt, Necas , Kyrou or any of these guys.

The Sens will never get softer like that

Fair enough. Again, I'm not saying this particular deal is the one the Sens would be interested in; just that if they're considering trading Tkachuk they're going to want a top-line player back.

I was going off of @alwaysnextyear comment (below).

This is a team that desperately wants to make the jump to being a playoff contender. They have good young pieces and players entering their prime that should keep them relevant for a while if they can level up. If they do consider trading Brady (and I'm not sure why they would unless he's asking out), I think it will definitely be for a comparable player or package of players that will help the Sens win-now.

I'd also recommend you take a look at his metrics last year.

Again you’re undervaluing Brady. I didn’t see you had the 2025 pick instead of the 2024 pick . Not a chance Sens ever ever consider that.

Not a single piece is good in that deal.

Marino is a scrub not even close to what Tuch was worth

That deal gets u laughed at for our captain.

The Sens aren’t doing a deal without a young STUD piece to build around

Marino is definitely similar value to what Tuch was at the time of the trade. Yes he’s struggled this year but he’s still a good top 4 dman. Pretty comparable to Zub

Holtz is probably worth a bit less than Krebs was at the time of the trade but is still a solid piece

      1st and 2nd = 1st and 2nd

Maybe it doesn’t get it done but it’s not the worst offer for a good but not elite 1st line winger

Nemec is providing quality top pairing hockey at RIGHT DEFENSE at age 19 for 900k a year.

Marino got the rough match-ups and slumped early in the season. He’ll be fine. Mercer was mostly just unlucky (and was put in more of defensive role under Lindy). He too will be fine. Holtz is a puzzle. Not sure what he becomes.

It’s not even this years first so no.

None of these pieces are worth anything in the long run .

Holtz is not what he was when he got drafted, not even close. Marino this year is an overpaid 3rd pair. Last year he was a solid #4 D. So now he’s hovering between a 4 and a 5th Dman.

The 1st next year is bound to be in the 20s.

      It’s a brutal offer .

Sanderson was an AHLer in his D+2 year. Nemec is a top pairing dman.

      Marino analytics

Marino has had a down year, but if you think you can find a quality RD that's younger, cheaper, better, and willing to play in ottawa, go for it.

I wouldn't offer marino up at all. If he gets to anything close to what he did last year, it is the bargain of the century

Marino got the rough match-ups and slumped early in the season. He’ll be fine. Mercer was mostly just unlucky (and was put in more of defensive role under Lindy). He too will be fine. Holtz is a puzzle. Not sure what he becomes.

You don’t trade Brady Tkachuk and accept that the other team has 5+ untouchables

Sanderson was an AHLer in his D+2 year. Nemec is a top pairing dman.

Sanderson at 20 last year was less sheltered than Nemec is now

It’s not even this years first so no.

None of these pieces are worth anything in the long run .

Holtz is not what he was when he got drafted, not even close. Marino this year is an overpaid 3rd pair. Last year he was a solid #4 D. So now he’s hovering between a 4 and a 5th Dman.

The 1st next year is bound to be in the 20s.

      It’s a brutal offer .

Starting piece need to be a top 7 pick or an equivalent prospect

Marino is a good #3 dman who’s great defensively and could play top pair if he’s paired with an offensive guy (Quinn Hughes for example). Yes he’s had a down year this year but is still a good player

The 1st next year matches the Vegas 1st they traded (which ended up being earlier than expected at the time of the trade because they missed the playoffs)

Holtz could be upgraded to a better piece but it’s not far off the Eichel return. And Eichel is a better player as well as a center, which cancels out most if not all of the negative value his neck injury added into the deal

      So his D+3 year?

in his D+2 year sanderson was sheltered in college, putting up significantly worse results than Casey btw

When those 5 untouchables all have more value than Brady Tkachuk you do.

Casey is ass . He’s a 5’9 offensive D. Good luck with that at the nhl level
