JT waives different idea to trade

Description
If JT waives to lower cap next year he can be retained for another center who can be retained to make their cap more reasonable as well.
This could be to any team .
If Samsonov makes it to 2nd or 3rd round re-sign him if not get UFA goalie.

TML have to do something to make him waive , we can not have a 11m captain producing at 5 to 6 m value and going to be worse next year no doubt.
Look up how many center under his cap are outproducing him it is really bad , over 20.
O'Rielly at 4.5 M is doing better !

You knew that was going to happen though, players decline it happens. He is the captain and is living a childhood dream he is NEVER going to waive. Only scenario in which I see he does if Toronto fans give him the treatment our fanbase did in his first game back. Now I really really really do hope the leafs not only trade him but also PAY to dump him.

This is the problem with this site is people are not realistic because they have their own team or dislike for certain players or teams .
He has to be realistic and told to understand in no way shape or form do we plan to extend him after his contract up unless he takes the Gio 800k special to REALLY prove he wants to play and WIN here!

You're only option is buy him out and that doesn't save you enough for a league minimum player. Deal with it he's in Toronto untill his contract ends
