As for Hayes you might be able to move him somewhere if you retain 50% on it. But most likely not to PIT. You'd have to find a TDL buyer next year.

I think the Krug-Graves swap is an issue for the Pens. Krug's stats on Evolving Hockey strike me as him being better than Graves offensively but worse defensively, which is not the niche the Pens are looking to fill. Add in that Krug is ~4 years older and $2M more expensive, and I don't think he's the missing piece to Dubas's puzzle.

I would at least consider a trade centered around Smith and Hayes, however.

I'm not sure anybody wants the PITT trade much, except perhaps Krug. I do not think Graves is the 1LD answer at all, even if I see the obvious benefit or ditching Krug. As funny as it sounds, I'd sooner bet on Krug rebounding to 21-22 and before form than on Graves handling that job.
