Buch to Columbus

Description
Building off what @DopeGM said in https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/5034501, Columbus needs more specific role players and high end ones at that. Adding, and extending, buch would be huge for them. They have the depth pieces to trade for him too. A main problem with Columbus is that they have almost too many prospects (same thing goes for a team like Buffalo) and not every prospect can make it. They also need more role players as you can't be playing guys like Chinakhov or Sillinger, who are top 6 talents, in the bottom 6.

Détails additionnels:
This is an interesting trade value wise. The Blues would be betting a lot on the upside of these players and the trade might not work out well if either Chinakhov or Voronkov don't work out. For Columbus, Buch signs around an 8x8 extension.

For Columbus, losing Voronkov would be the big blow but you're getting legit first line, all situations, PPG winger. Voronkov is likely going to be a very solid middle 6 power forward throughout his career but not a first line guy. The emergence of Nylander makes Chinakhov expendable as they play similar roles. Hayes adds more veteran leadership to a young team and it helps that he's great friends with Gaudreau.

Lastly, Ceuleman is in the same situation as a lot of Columbus players and just doesn't have a spot open for him for a LONG time.

I have no faith that a 60-70 point player elsewhere isn't just a 30-50 point player in Columbus. There's something about the playstyle they want to pursue that has been absolutely destructive to offensive production. With that in mind, the value here is horrible for Columbus as they're potentially giving up two guys who can score at the same rate as Buchnevich would in Columbus.

The key though is the two guys could "potentially" score at the same rate as Buch. The odds that both of those 2 ever do that in Columbus is pretty rare. At some point Columbus has to change up the culture and play style. That likely starts with a new coach this offseason who will hopefully help. Either way it will be fascinating to see how they perform next year.

What are your thoughts on the Jiricek situation? Hopefully he gets a full time top 4 role next year but Columbus has a lot of dmen he has to pass and they've seemed reluctant in letting him pass those players even though he is more skilled.

If we talk about scoring rates, they're both already scoring at higher /60 rates at 5v5 than Buchnevich. It's pretty reasonable to expect that they'll both be able to reach the same range of production, if not higher, with more experience and a competent PP system. Chinakhov is actually one of the more productive 5v5 scorers in the league when measuring p/60.

I haven't put a whole lot of thought into the Jackets future since Jarmo was fired. It seems like a pointless exercise until we know who the replacement is and what direction they want to take the team in.

Not gonna lie, man. I do not care for the construction of this offer. If a maybe solid middle 6 C (which is certainly not a primary need) is the centerpiece of a deal to give up Buch and Hayes half-retained, something is wrong. Especially coming from a team with excellent prospects in our areas of dire need falling out of their ears.

Heh. Against top line competition? And maybe use more than one season for Buch to compare, for the sake of including consistency.

As much as I would dearly love to see Buchnevich in union blue, that price is way too damn high. Giving up Chinakhov is suboptimal. Giving up Voronkov is very bad for us. Having to take back Hayes is abysmally bad. All three at once? I love Buch but not quite that much.

What offer would you make for Buch? I think the fit to Columbus is a good one and they would have a lot that the Blues would be interested in.
