CHI might consider that. Tuomisto is still waiver exempt for quite a while and has had a pretty good season with Grand Rapids. But, I'd be willing to bet that CHI is on Holl's "No Trade List". If I were DET, I would consider either buying him out or retaining and trying to get positive value.

Petry isn't waiving his NMC to go anywhere. Wings only option to get rid of him is to buy him out. Hawks might consider that. Tuomisto is still young enough and plays a position of need. Pens accept that deal in a heartbeat.

If Detroit was willing to eat 25 - 50% on Holl I might consider it if I was Chicago, otherwise I don’t think a 3rd round pick and a 23 year old AHL/ECHL d-man is enough to eat $3.4m for two seasons.

Either you are going to have to buy out those players or pay more to for a team to take them. These teams are trying to develop young talent and a cap dump takes cap space, roster spot, and contract slot.
