No, he's not god awful offensively! That's the point! Rod's absolutely mismanaged that. Kotkaniemi's creating chances for fun but cannot get the bounces right now. What he needs is offensively competent linemates and a vote of confidence. Watch him! Put him next to Svechnikov (who I would have less problems with being scratched right now) and Necas and let that line play on muscle memory.

Svech needs a reset. KK needs a vote of confidence and a few bounces. All this will do is make KK worse. When he's been playing quite well, it's AWFUL management. Svech needs a break, he's trying too hard. Any competent head coach drags this roster to the playoffs. He's actively holding this team back with the deployment. He's a great motivator and a good development coach, but he struggles to manage game situations. Rod throws Staal out as the extra attacker, puts Martinook on the top line in desperate situations... he's not good at it
