No chance penguins are paying for cap dumps lmao .
They already have enough 4th liners thank you though .
If you give us knies we will gladly take your cap dumps though. Maybe even throw in a 2nd

So I just think you have values of players a little messed up IMO.

Cam Talbot- Hes holding a .916 , as of now tied for 4th in the league, Also looking at 2.44 GAA Which is top 5 in the league. Barring some kind of monumental collapse hes going to want to cash in one more time before he retires as he hasnt made a whole lot of money in his career.
Cam Talbot will be signed to a 2 year x3M per year deal whether with the kings or another team.

Max Domi- The reason he signed a 3M deal and only 1 year is because he knew hes worth more and wanted a prove it deal. for him to turn around and sign a 5 year deal taking away all the rest of his prime years all the way to 34 it isnt going to be for 3.5M. you have to understand the cap is skyrocketing in the next 1-2-3-4 years. And every year you add the more it will cost the team. for hypathetical example a 2 year deal may be 4M for a player , a 3 year deal will be 4.5M a 4 year deal 5M and so on. obviously unless theyre like 37 years old.
I dont think Toronto would want Domi on a 5 year deal. IF they resign him it will be MAX 3 years around 4.25M

The same goes for Bertuzzi. Im sorry but hes not coming back to Toronto. Hes going to price himself out. Theres just going to be to many teams interested for it not to become a bidding war. The reason the leafs were able to get them both at 1 year was because they players wanted "Prove it deals" and they looked at Toronto as a team they could go to , to play on a high offense team. Get careeer highs then cash in on a long term deal somewhere else.
I do think the 5.5M is actually reasonable for Bertuzzi though. The leafs just cant pay it with the raises of Matthews and Nylander.

My Next question to you is , If you get rid of Kampf and Jarnkrok who in the world is going to play defence on this team? Whos going to PK? Theres a reason those guys are on the team. Theyre valuable in their own way. its uaully Kampf and Marner PK.

I think if they could have got a 1st for Liljgren they would have moved him instead of Sandin.

20 man roster, no 7th Dman, Minten and Cowan starting centres, Marner on LW, Talbot for 1m., five years of Domi is too long as six years for Roy

Caps decline - a second at best for Liljegren, but there’s better options in UFA.

lets take away the 2 bad trades.
Those signings.
6 million on Roy..... Has his play changed in the last 3 years?.... no
If he was worth 3 million 3 years ago, and the cap has barely went up since then.... how is he now worth 6?
He's not. But now that he's about to be 30, you want to over pay him for 6 years......

You mean the GM that gave up Jake Guentzel for Michael Bunting and a bunch of AHL nobodies?

Tell me you don’t watch hockey & understand trades without telling me you don’t watch hockey & understand trades

Pretty sad treliving give up assets to make his roster worse if it was that easy to acquire a superstar LW .

Liljegren wouldn't get a first like Sandin did since Sandin came with an extra year of cheap term while whoever acquires Liljegren will have to pay him immediately. Toronto will most likely get a 2nd at most for Liljegren.
