mesar makes sense as the replacement forward but i read ghule is an untouchable.
it has been reported more than once.

i do think montreaL needs to target a young scoring winger though.

how about struble?
habs have a couple spare firsts, many decent picks in the next few years. minnis cupboard couple use some restocking.

I would rather this - if any. I really like the potetnial of Hutson in the NHL - but Guhle is thrown around on these board as a B or B- trade piece. He just turned 22 - and is improving daily. He is underrated by so many, and that is not saying Habs fans do not appreciate him, but he never got sent to Laval once since starting in the league as a 19 year old. He is the top pairing LD of the future - even with the stacked cupboard in the position.

I don't think MIN would consider moving Boldy without a huge overpay, which would be Hutson/Guhle/Reinbacher + Slaf/Perrault/Mesar + 2025 1st, unprotected. MIN would want 2024 unprotected, but I don't see how that would be on the table.

Edit:

Alright this is where I draw the line of insanity, you probably wouldn't trade Boldy for McDavid

2025 1st + Slaf 1OA + Reinbacher 5OA sure man... This isn't NHL 2024 on playstation

The pieces required for a Boldy acquisition are not available from Montreal so this is kind of pointless, no?

I never said that; I said what MIN is going to ask for in a Boldy deal... quit being overdramatic with the McJesus comparisons. If you want a big fish on a great contract you are going to pay through the nose. And my point was a (1) top D prospect/NHL'er; (2) a top forward prospect/NHL'er and (3) 2025 1st, unprotected. To MIN, this would be their version of an Eichel-level trade, and these are things MTL has that MIN would want.

IF the question was should MTL do this, of course not....but don't get mad at me, I didn't propose MTL trying to trade for Boldy

I understand however your proposed ask is higher than Eichel.

Also you said :

Top D prospect (Lane Hutson) + top fwd prospect (Farrel/Mesar) + 2025 1st pick

Is awfully similar of what I proposed at top

Agreed, it was close but not there. But I disagree that it was higher ask than Eichel. I feel it's lower, as Boldy is a level below Eichel

Alright good talk ! Definitely would be a steep price but worth it considering the contract and possible chemistry with Caufield!

30 other teams beat that offer for Boldy. Also if Hutson actually was a top D prospect he wouldn't be in every second Montreal homer trade. Reinbacher is a good prospect Hutson is an undersized kid piling up easy points on a top US University team.

Jacob Perreault in the Ahl, however at the moment he's worth a bag a puck so not sure why he mentioned him

Be real man, Hutson is top 15-20 prospect in the league right now on every list. Also heard about the undersized kid named Quinn Hughes ? Better production from Hutson at same age.

And also undersized kid name Gabe perreault is probably bad also cause he plays on the same line as Cutter Gauthier and Will Smith at Boston college.

He's not a sure star NHL player, but don't tell me he's not a top D prospect....

I was desperate for options after Slaf. Not the most realistic option, and I don't have much faith in Mesar being more than a3rd liner .... so I tried to come up with anyone I thought might still catch make recognition.... it was slim pickings....

My hockey knowledge is just fine....MTL forward prospects are not....

Like i said, desperate for options after Slaf...I don't see any of those options as top line talent. Good pieces, but not that high end

If you look at a prospect pool and only take the prospects with top line talent, you won’t have a lot of prospects. Here is the only teams with 2 or more :
Anaheim
Arizona
Minnesota (and even then we don’t really know with Yurov)
San Jose

That’s pretty much it

I agree with your list, but I might add BUF & WPG depending on personal preferences and what we are talking about as a "prospect"...I was thinking less than 82 GP; but this is why I don't think MTL would have a good possibility of landing someone like Boldy - it would cost too much

Buffalo has one first line potential prospect and it’s Benson. Winnipeg has Perfetti, but McGoarty doesn’t have the potential of being a good firsr liner

BUF has Savoie & Kulich too and I disagree about McGroarty. Again we are talking about potential to
