Flames already have that in Huberdeau. Difference is Marner produces and your star is a flashlight.

Star players don’t want to leave Toronto so environment is different in T.O. But I agree - Flames trading for Marner makes little sense; zero chance he re-signs there and with Lindholm gone & trading Kadri (at least in this example), you’d think a centre would be the priority

As a Leaf fan, I'm worried about Trevling being competent. But I'm used to it. Leafs have had a number of GMs in the cap era, who didn't appreciate the cap. Ferguson, Burke, Nonis, Dubas and maybe Trevling joins that group.
