Flames offseason

Créé par: jtgbrooks
Équipe: 2024-25 Flames de Calgary
Date de création initiale: 25 mars 2024
Publié: 25 mars 2024
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
The trades are placeholders. The teams do not particularly matter nor the picks/prospects swapped. The rest of the cap space should be weaponized to take on expiring contracts in return for picks.

I think that offer is off the table if I am Fitz. Marky is the Plan B imo now.

Don’t understand why he was plan a to begin with at his age, but it sure sounds like he is still plan A

The two deals I think are going to happen in the offseason

    1. Elias Lindholm signs in Boston
    2. Jacob Markstrom is traded for Alex Holtz

I believe that the Devils should be pursuing Ullmark personally

Mango is a tough trade for picks or prospects. Who has the cap 5.8m cap for a second line winger in October?
He's more of a retained TDL deal.
You have great faith in Wolf to make that signing. Discounting what he did in the AHL, is he NHL good?

Yeah Mangi would fetch a much better return at the deadline with 50% retention.

In 3 out of the last 4 games Wolf has started he was very good. In fact in the first two of those games (vs Vegas and Montreal) he was pretty much the only reason the Flames won. The 3rd game the whole team was off not just him. The 4th game vs Buffalo both goalies played really well the Sabres got 2 goals past him (vs 1 for the Flame and padded the score with a couple empty netters in the last minute of play. It's a small sample size but Wolf is starting to show at the NHL level why he's such a good prospect.

Thanks for the Wolf info. I saw him in the Leaf game, and gee I thought he looked too small to ever be a good NHLer where size is paramount. But I wish the Wolf best wishes. If he and Sabres Levi can make it, maybe it can open more opportunities for smaller guys.

Wolf is an undersized 23 year old goalie with -5.6 GSAx in 11 games.

Bottom 4 rate in the league (sogaard, chorna, cal Peterson have been worse) He’s been horrific as an NHL goalie

Totally agree but a few things (as you may have seen me in this and other treads): Copied from a Twitter post- Lafrenière (First Line All Year) - 20 goals, Byfield (First Line All Year) - 19 goals, Sutztle (Top 6 & Top PP) - 17 goals, Holtz (4th line 99% of the season) - 16 goals With line mates like: Chris Tierney and McDermid

I think it was the term left TBH. Fitz buying time to get Daws/Schmid and the rest time to marinate in Utica and not have to push them so much (like they haven't already!) I am not sure that is s need anymore. Its a shame Kapo Kaahkonen (sp) was so late to the party! As you have noted in this and other threads (pushed back to fellow Bs fans as well). Its a 1st with an add for Ullmark or Holtz and same. 5 yrs younger a million cheaper, yeah ya gotta resign it, but why wouldn't we?
Fitz is not going late into the summer without a new starter. Love Jake Allen and KK, but his job is on the line to solve the G issue in Jersey.
He is too smart to give up Mercer/Holtz/24 1st for Saros IMO. the presser after Lindy was let go was not a ringing endorsement for Holtz and I think both Fitz and Green called out their player. He answered by saying F U. So I am not sure where it goes. I lost a lot for Fitzy on that one. Fire Green (and entire coaching staff) 30 mins after the season is over, Grab Sully in Pitt and lets get back to it!

That’s why you develop a goaltender as a backup to get them acclimated

It's laughable how petty you are. 9 NHL starts is not a legitimate sample size. Maybe he was brought up too early at first but the last 4 games he's played great
