Light return on Pettersson. Remove the quantity of Bahl and Foote and replace with a useful future like a 2nd. Especially if Pettersson is allowed to do a sign and trade. Too much on Jarry deal, remove Holtz and add a future.
Huge disconnect in the business reality of the Graves and Smith deals. That's $7.5m in dead money to ownership for a 3rd and 4th round pick. Not worth it at all for PIT ownership or Dubas to try justifying.

Both of the NJ deals are easy no's from NJ. They could get a better d-man in Free Agency this offseason. Roy would only be like 500k more (although I know they have a RD logjam at the moment). Jarry is solid but not worth that.

Name the LD you think are better than Pettersson in UFA this year. Hanifin and Skjei are it.

Why is Pettersson(PIT) worth that big of a return?

Well I think they'd prefer sticking with Seigenthaler and Hughes over Pettersson. I shouldn't say "better" than Pettersson, but rather a more preferred d-man than what they'd be giving up.
I think a vet LD like martinez, Skjei (I haven't seen anywhere that he's for sure extending), Brodie, Dillon, etc. on a short term deal would make the most since Seigenthaler and Hughes are their long term top 2 pairings
