Actually Toronto is the biggest market. Hence why it’s called the “centre of the hockey universe”. & why they’re valued as the more expensive team in the league. Montreal is 3rd and worth $500M less than Toronto.. so again, learn some hockey knowledge before you comment.

I won’t argue your JT is a cap dump argument b/c it’s a moot point - his full NMC endures that . Literally NO chance a leafs would be adding in any JT for EK trade 🤯🤦🏻.
PSS Toronto is easiest the most popular team & most valuable franchise in the league and not that close.
TOR doesn't even have the biggest TV market in canada, that belongs to MTL which is why their value is higher.
NYR have consistently had the largest TV market. They have the most valuable playing market by a mile.
So you can go round and round on valuations of how some city with 2.7 million people is the "most valuable" market... but it's not.
TOR isn't even 1st in the league in merchandise sales.
So you aren't the most value on TV contracts.
You aren't the most value on merchandise.
You aren't the most value on ticket sales.
But only in TOR heads do they think they are the most valuable franchise.
I'm pretty sure the Rangers are by far the most valuable team in the NHL.
If the two teams were put up for sale at the exact same time. The rangers bids would be significantly higher than TOR.
But go on thinking what you want. Most people not reading garbage on the internet and just being honest about valuations would realize that NYC is a much bigger and more valuable market than TOR.
Hence the team is worth more.
