Well, I like that the Hawks get Celebrini! The rest isn't so good. Hawks aren't signing Skjei, or any other UFA in this class, to a 6 year deal. Hawks won't target Skjei at all. They aren't going to block their young LD from getting NHL ice time. Not crazy about the DeBrusk signing either, but if he's willing to take a one or two year deal, so be it. Hawks keep Donato if all he's worth is a 5th. He's had a pretty solid season for the Hawks. Doubt anyone pays a 3rd for TRad, but Hawks would take that one. Hawks can't decline that Montreal trade fast enough. A one round pick swap isn't even close to take Anderson and his contract. I doubt Montreal would pay what the Hawks likely ask.

Gotcha, was wondering what the hawks would do this offseason but looks like signing big names doesn’t make sense if it blocks all the talent coming up for sure.

Hawks do need to sign or trade for higher priced guys just to hit cap floor! Cayden Lindstrom at 2nd OA will be a good consolation prize after sharks take Celebrini 1st!

They'll look to upgrade the roster with 2 or 3 UFA's who are willing to take one or two year deals at above market AAV. Like they did with Foligno and Perry last summer. Maybe take on a bad contract or two if they get a 1st or 2nd to take it. Don't see them going " big game hunting" in the UFA market before July '25 or '26.

Agree 100%. Either Lindstrom or Leshevnov would be welcome adds in Chicago. The cap floor situation not as dire as last summer. Once Hawks re-sign Vlasic, Reichel and the other RFA's, they probably need to spend like $8m on 3 roster spots to hit the floor. Shouldn't be too hard.

Yeah. Me either. I don't think the "two year contract" is a hardline rule. As long as KD does things incrementally and doesn't give TOO much term or AAV out to players, we will be just fine. After all, we are going to need to hit the cap floor in 26-27, too.

I've no doubt he'll get a one day contract or maybe even sign a year when he's 38 or 39.

But who knows, maybe he really wants to make sure he gets his springs on vacation and signs there next year.

I honestly dont think they would.

If you look at the pens theres a solid chance thats a mid 30s pick. Their pick this year currently sits at 41 and the teams been healthy and they had guentzel.

They dont have cap this summer to replace him so theres a solid chance the pens are a bottom 5 team woth a couple injuries. The gap in pick value from 33-40 is pretty minimal.

The habs dont need cap space this offseason. They need assets.

No! They wouldnt as Anderson isnt a cap dump. And even IF he was a cap dump, the Habs have over 20 million in cap space next season. They arent dumping salary unless it means opening up space for the kids which is all on defence coming up and adding the Hawks a good pick, nah, of course, Hawks fans reject this lmao they think they are the only team with cap space most out of touch fan base on here thinking Mzarek and Dickinson had value but Anderson needs high picks to be dumped

I can’t see DeBrisk signing for that little, he is likely to surpass 20 goals for the third consecutive season.

Hawks fans were screaming that Mzarek was worth a 3rd plus before being signed. There was zero interest meanwhile Habs fans including me said that I’d be surprised if Allen had any value. Once a Hawks fan gets something right you can claim to know what you’re talking about.

Are you insinuating that CHI resigned him because there was no interest in him? Do you even know how illogical that sounds? There absolutely WAS interest in Mrazek. But CHI wanted a stabilizing goalie for the next couple years while Soderblom is acclimating to the NHL. Someone for him to take the job away from. Also, Mrazek liked where he was too, and the team likes him in the locker room. What is so difficult to understand about that?

I'm a Habs fan, I watch the guy play and he's gotten worse every season he's been a Hab. They might not need the space now, but in having a 4th liner making 5.5M is something that can hamstring a team on the upswing. Before you argue with me that he's not a 4th liner, he's on pace for 20 points this year despite MSL giving every chance to play with skilled players. If Slafkovsky wasn't stuck with Anderson to start the year he'd be pushing for 60 points on the season instead of 45

Not a Hawks fan.

Please continue to tell me how Josh Anderson and his sub-30 point pace, currently on his way to his first full season in 4 years, could return an asset of some kind in a trade. tears of joy

No one cares in Montreal but you clearly do! The Laval team not only has nothing coming up in the top 6 for the NHL but neither the bottom 6, its filled with AHL'rs for life! There is zero reason for Montreal to pay to dump Anderson. As said. Reinbacher, Mailloux, Barron are all flourishing in Laval then the Russians and Engstrom are coming.
