A VAN and CAR trade idea - feedback welcome

Description

This trade assumes that Hronek's camp and VAN brass can't come to an extension agreement, otherwise I'd just rather re-sign him.

VAN gets two high-value pieces for the best player in the trade. Necas is young enough to extend long-term as a winger for Petey, and Morrow is a good RHD prospect to add to the fold. Hopefully he and Willander can make the jump by the beginning of the 2025 season.

CAR gets a guy that can take over the PP from Burns, who has been good but not great offensively this season. They've got a bunch of their RHD's off the books this offseason and can shift some of their cap allocation.

Other pieces could be added on either side if the value is a little off, but I thought this could be the starting point for a deal that could make sense.

The Canucks aren’t going to trade Hronek because he wants 500k more than what he’s worth. You don’t trade half of one of the top D pairs in the league just because of rumours from the twitter. Necas is good value in a return but why would either team do this trade?

There isn't a chance the Canes would take that return, but in the alternate universe where they did, you're still not signing Necas at 6.5 x 8. If he would take that the deal would be done today and he'd be staying in Carolina.

Not a fan of either team but to me Necas has more value than Hronek, Morrow is probably a better prospect so CAR declines rather easily. That being said why would VAN want to trade Hronek anyway?

There's no way I'd give up Hronek for Necas straight up. Firmly disagree on that evaluation.
