Like the Joshua and Hakanppa signings. Don't like the 1st trade, doubt the 2nd one would happen and love Crouse but probably takes more

Take Skinner out

It's not bad return at all, and Skinner at 6.0 AAV for 3 years is good, no problem

It's more that it would be a very bold move. Ottawa just moved on from a toxic era with an awful owner and an incompetent GM who hired an incompetent coach. This off-season is when new ownership and management will start making their impact. It would be surprising if Tkachuk is identified as a guy they should move.

I think Stutzle, Tkachuk, Pinto, Greig, Sanderson, Kleven are seen as untouchables right now

Batherson due to his contract would be surprising, same for Joseph. And for Zub, a good RHD defensively is the type you just don't move. They would actually need to clone him.

I think everyone else is a possibility

I agree with you actually, and I really like Zub. Been trying to trade for him on here for a couple years. Stubborn bunch in Ottawa!😁

Plus, zub would not be a target by adams- what would we even do with a physical defensive d, and a right handed one at that. It's probably never crossed his mind. Left handed puck movers, that's where the smart money goes.

Reverso Botts with the RD
He would be the perfect partner for Power. What a top 4 you could have, actually not a bad 6.

Imagine building around Stutzle , Sanderson, Pinto, Greig, Peterka/Quinn, Parekh/Catton , 2025 1st and picks we get from Tkachuk . And then the Boston 1st.

Huge potential for a short retool

Stutzle
Tkachuk
Batherson
Giroux
Pinto
Greig
Joseph

Sanderson
Chabot
Zub

Giroux, Zub and Joseph as vets I keep. No point trading them due to leadership (Giroux), cap hit (Batherson) or position (Zub as a RHD)

I have 7 Top-9 forwards, need to fill out the top-9 adequately. It's not about name recognition, need smart pick ups

Norris is a wildcard... let his health status figure out itself or he stays on LTIR.

I have 3 Top-4 D-men. Need someone different than Chychrun, a RHD

For the Bot-3 D-men, Brannstrom and JBD could be kept but need a much much better vet than Hamonic. Someone like Gudas or Luke Schenn would have been nice

Need to rebuild the goaltending, again. Keep Sogaard and Merilainen in the mix and wait that they earn their spot.

Problem is outside of Korpisalo and Chychrun (of course Kubalik and Hamonic too), and to rebuild the 4th line while adding a Top-4 RHD, I don't see much that is needed to be done. Coaching will need to be top notch. Nothing against JM and Alfie and at least they have started the healing but they are not long term solutions

At least we should be able to get a great piece in the Top-10 of the 2024 draft

Idk how Sens fans cannot comprehend this but Tkachuk, Stutzle and Batherson don’t work on the same team. Neither does Chabot, Chychrun , Brannstrom

Has Samuelsson been so disappointing that trading him for an overpaid bottom-6 C is realistic?

Everyone understands that Chabot, Chychrun and Brannstrom is overkill. Dorion is the one who went ahead to acquire Chychrun

Why would Tkachuk, Stutzle and Batherson not work on the same team? LW + Center + RW... none of them play the same position and would need to play on the same line.

That line this season by the way has a 58.2% xGF%, not even sure why JM has not played them more together. Even in raw goals, 7-1 at 5 on 5

He gets hurt every year. More about getting Byrum on defense and not needing Samuelsson in top 6. 3rd line center who can win face-offs is a better fir for what Sabres need.
