I read that same rumour, and it's exactly why Guentzel isn't a Canuck. VAN doesn't want to give up either of those guys, let alone both.

It seems high but at the end of the day Jake is a top 5 LW and can put a team over the top .

Until a few years later when the “futures” given up fizzled into nothing and the pens won a few cups. Prospects are just that . Prospects . Not guaranteed to be anything at all . Jake is a sure fire top 5 LW with massive game breaking ability. All three pieces may end up great , or end up being literally nothing

I can’t see Carolina giving up Nikishin, but Scott Morrow is a pretty talented young defenseman.

I wouldn’t give up Nikishin if I were them even included Pickering as an offset.
