What would you expect for a Faulk trade? Having 4 years left is going to be tough for any contending team to take on considering his age....

leddy and krug are pure cap dumps. faulk has a sliver of value but he’s a puck mover who can’t defend so that doesn’t help the fact that GM’s overvalue DFD’s.

Faulk will have three years left next season, not four. I would definitely be willing to discuss that with anyone, and would certainly understand that some retention/taking a contract back would be required. On the plus side, I would not ask for your 24 1st. So that's fun, right? Pretty sure all Friedman said was the Blues would like to change their defense up and have been trying to do so for years. He’s not wrong. (Krug, Faulk, Leddy). He didn’t specifically mention Parayko - that was David Pagnota who is a click baity as they get. Friedman is pretty credible.

I dunno maybe because they have a good core of young forwards, and a very average defense at best. They sorely lack a shutdown guy, the cap is rising, Parayko is having probably his best season of his career. The cap is going up. The goal isn't to just build the best paper team every year by having 4-5 young unproven guys who are on cheap contracts to hope that one of them pops. The Leafs should very well be competing during this time frame of Marner/Nylander/Matthews.

The better question is why would the Blues move Parayko with no direct replacement in our system at RHD or in defense in general?

Well you would clear 6.5m in cap space, surely there are UFAs availiable

aaaaaaand opinion invalidated. Krug? yeah kinda, hes got about 2-3 million too much on his contract. Leddy? hes actually been great, No he shouldnt be a first pair guy but we dont have any LD who can fit that bill. He has been thrown into the fire and has been decent. Hed be great on the 2nd pair. faulk has to play with krug every night and they do the opposite of compliment each others games

Im gonna say this again because people dont seem to get it, the blues do not have another first pairing guy, parayko is it. If we trade him, then were just looking for another one of him. He is not replaceable for us at the moment.
