Doubt we get a 2nd for rielly and cal combined
          Bortuzzo only one 7th
Aho and Martin are fair value
Trading Nelson would be rough, but still I like the Avs trade (if we are trading Nelson I would do it this TDL and 50% retained maybe give a pick to another team to retain again him at 1.5 for 1½ years would net us sl much)
Lee we are going to have to pay to dump
That isn't even close for Buch at 50%
Sens fans on this site have shutdown any Pageau + 1st for Pinto type deal
Also Wally is definitely gone this TDL or in the offszn
And what are Forsling defensive stats like? Still I think that 7.5 could be spent elsewhere

I agree with much of what you wrote, but let me tell you, Gustav Forsling is a top-5 defenseman in all categories.

Thanks for telling me. Would be a great add, only concern is having to pay Buch, Romanov, and Dobson next year

Kyle Palmieri's contract is up and in this scenario so are Beauvillier's and Okposo's and you could always trade Varlamov, Cizikas, Pelech, and Mayfield. + the cap will raise even more.

A lot of team can beat out those offers for Buch and Pinto+

Buch will take at least two 1st and Ottawa doesn’t want to trade Pinto

          How am I wrong? Lmao

Buch is a top winger in the league that you’re getting at $3m cap hit

Pinto is a young stud with already 20 goal season in the nhl lol

You want these players, you gotta give up better

I hate a "Avs pass" post...

I started to think Nelson for RyJo might be interesting, but the numbers do not appear to justify that price. Keep in mind that the Avs 1st PP unit plays 80%+ of the PP, so Nelson's PP contributions would not really be of value. So, I wanted to focus on 5v5 numbers.

          5v5
          RyJo 9G 6A 53.6 FO% 46.1% OZ Starts 49.4 Corsi 2 yrs @ $4M
          Nelson 17G 13A 46.4 FO% 59.3% OZ Starts 50.3 Corsi 2yrs @$6M

My biggest concern is, in additional to the lack of expected PP time, what happens to Nelsons numbers when his OZ start time gets cut down (MacKinnon gets 72% of his starts in the OZ and that is not going down).
Basically the Avs would be giving up a first AND their top prospect (in a position of need) to move from RyJo's .33 ppg to Nelson's .5 ppg

Finally, the Avs cannot absorb the $2m difference in the contract.

          Avs Pass wink

I understand you don't want to move him. But without him AND another player. You don't get Nelson....Johansen has no value, he's a pure cap dump. So, Ritchie and a late bottom 1st does not get you a top 2C who scores 30 goals a year and you would have him for the following year too.

Did you literally not read what I wrote, take any other pick another first I don’t care, take Behrens an NHL ready dman Gulyayev a d 1st round pick but won’t be in NHL for a couple of years, hell pick anybody off of the Eagles. Ritchie is the one non roster asset the Avs are going to almost be 100% against trading. Hell take another first and Meyers.

I did, but you aren't listening to me either. We would need a young center replacement for Nelson. Don't need an undersize D-man in Behrens or another D-man - We need young talented Top 6 forwards in general but for us to move Nelson we would need his replacement for down the road, hence Ritchie. But if you are dead set on not moving him, no worries. Then we aren't a match unfortunately.

Avs decline. Isles would want Ritchie. Avs won't want to give up Ritchie, nor can they afford Nelson. That's before doing any deep diving. People need to drop the Nelson idea.

          5v5
          RyJo 9G 6A 53.6 FO% 46.1% OZ Starts 49.4 Corsi 2 yrs $4M
          Nelson 17G 13A 46.4 FO% 59.3% OZ Starts 50.3 Corsi 2yrs $6M

My biggest concern is, in additional to the lack of expected PP time, what happens to Nelsons numbers when his OZ start time gets cut down (MacKinnon gets 72% of his starts in the OZ and that is not going down).
Basically the Avs would be giving up a first AND their top prospect (in a position of need) to move from RyJo's .33 ppg to Nelson's .5 ppg

Finally, the Avs cannot absorb the $2m difference in the contract.

          Avs Pass wink

Nelson has been productive in a less-offensively tilted role before he really popped off in 2021-22.

2018-19 through 2020-21 he was getting more than 50% of his starts in the D-zone and was typically 6th on the team in PP TOI (so borderline PP1/2 I'd argue.) He still averaged nearly 28 goals/82 GP and was on ice for 54.3% of the goals scored 5v5.

I also don't know where you're getting Johansen scoring at .33 PPG and Nelson scoring at .5 PPG? Nelson has 46 points in 58 GP (.79 PPG) and 30 of those at 5v5 (0.52). Johansen has 22 points in 60 GP (0.37) and only 15 of those at 5v5 (0.25) No matter how you slice it, Nelson is literally scoring twice as much as RyJo this year.

Hawks obviously decline. They aren't paying anything to acquire Lee. Hawks counter w/ Beau's UFA rights for Lee, the Isles '25 2nd and the Isles '26 3rd.

Nelson has been a 1st line caliber forward the past 3 seasons. Johansen has been a low end 3rd liner. Please list the centers that have scored 35 G 3 years in a row over the past 5 seasons. I’ll wait lol

This guy really compared Brock Nelson to Johansen lol. That’s like comparing pageau to nichushkin

Past performance does not guarantee future performance. We all watch enough hockey to know that.

Nelson is a 1st liner at the moment, so there’s that…

          60 9 6 15

Fair enough, I missed a button click when I went for 5v5 stats. I didn't dive further into O-Zone starts, other than Nelson gets 60% of his starts in the o-zone (I'm not doing the dive into o-zone starts to points scored on those shifts), but he is definitely benefiting from that, and he would not get that in Denver. MacKinnon is 64% all situations and the next closest is RyJo at 46%. Nelson is 100% an upgrade over RyJo but again, the Avs cannot afford the contract and I think would be unwilling to part with Ritchie in any deal that is not a massive long term upgrade at 2C (e.g. Middlestat)
